(I didn't know which forum was applicable so I posted here)

Can anyone recommend a setup and program that allows 2 webcams to be used in an extended 'chat' session between users?

The use case is my niece, Sophie, is having piano lessons - but these now have to be conducted remotely / virtually. My sister is currently using a laptop and skype but its far from ideal as the teacher, and Sophie at her end, need to be able to see the keyboard clearly, and Sophie also needs to be able to see the piano teachers face. Sophie has some disabilities and struggles without that sort of interaction.

    Suggestions gratefully welcomed.

Zoom has multiple users joined at one. Can you use the laptop/web cam as tge main faceone and maybe borrow a phone during the lesson and point it at the keyboard?

There's a Sydney pianist "Jonathan Ong" who streams on Twitch. He may be able to give advice if you contact him.

You're probably after some software that'll create a virtual camera whose output is the mix of the two cameras. I think you can do that with OBS.

Yep, set up an OBS scene with all the inputs you need and then use OBS-VirtualCam to pretend it's a webcam for Skype/whatever.

    This is all you need.
Just join a meeting on multiple devices and use one for the keyboard and one to be able to see the teacher on.
You don't need logins or anything for zoom just the meeting code/link

if you have two devices use zoom, if you have 2 webcams on one device use OBS

zoom with 2 devices is probably better for the back and forth conversation to be honest

You just need to watch out for feedback.

Or put a headset on both devices.

I think you'd get variable delay, such would suck.

The OBS idea should eliminate that.

Not sure about Qld but NSW has announced 2 people (and their children) can visit others.
Berejiklian was on radio just now and was asked about music teaching and she said they could provided they still still distance.
