    Hey All,

Just thought that i would post up some pics and details of the cockpit i am building.

I got my G25 around 3 months ago and always had building a cockpit in the back of my mind. It was after a few too many beers in the spa when i mentioned it to a mate that we got started on it the next day.

At the moment it is an all wood frame and MDF covering it...

Then mounted a board for the wheel and the shifter...

Then it was time for the sides to go on and plane them along nice and even..

Hole in the front for USB and Power to run out...

Everything in place for testing purposes...

Mate giving it the go ahead!

Then last night got a mate around and we got the back and sides all done!!

    Everything all MDF'ed up!!

Things that still need to be done -

-Plane and sand all the edges i missed!
-Carpet the bottom, steering mount and bonnet
-Paint the sides red and add a few HRT logos!!
    -Add a stubby holder!
    -MDF the back
-Get a custom foam seat made up and then get my mate to trim it!
-Chock up pedals to face me a little more

After that i think ill be good to go, will be gettin a 22' wide for it as well...

Let me know what you think, will be updating this as i make more improvments!

    Cheers!

    Dave

Dude, lookin' good so far. There are people who often look at a spare car seats and wonder if they could make a cockpit and then there are those who actually DO it. :D Lookin' forward to when it's done. It beats my couch any day!

You might want to angle the pedals towards yourself a bit, more like a real car, if you're going to be low down in front of them.

Do you plan on leaving the gearbox up there?

Personally, I'd shift it (pardon the pun) down to the front left side of the seat or thereabouts, to simulate a real car.

    yeah! HRT ftw!! Haha..

    Got a few suggestions...

    -Get the 22inch wide
-Get a couple of 8" Subs to chuck in the footwell
-5 channel surround set of speakers to provide nice sound
-Desk Fan to make you feel like your flying
    -Custom Paintjob
    -Dump it..

Not sure about the stick yet, may go down a little lower, think it may be a little high there!

22 wide is on its way!
    Paintjob to follow!
    Dump It! :p
Surround Sound Already Set Up! (X Fi!)

Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys, keep em coming!
