Well my last two parts came for my new C2D system and so far its really nice :):

    CPU: C2D E6400 (2.16ghz, Allendale)
    Mobo: DFI Infinity 975X/G
RAM: OCZ Value DDR2 667mhz (Dual Channel)
    GFX: Albatron 7900gt 256mb (PCI-E)
    HDD: WD 200gb SATA
    Optical: Samsung DVD-RW
    PSU: Silverstone ST-50EF (500w)

I have not tried overclocking as of yet because of a poor case (generic) and no additional fans and the usage of the stock HSF. It is fast and runs quite cool and is quieter than my last system (Sempron).

Nothing a divider wont fix. My take on some of the threads i've read is Conroe doesnt seem to stutter too much from running the memory slower then the FSB.

Yeah, I actually did read somewhere that the DFI Board isnt the best overclocker. I think Anandtech did a quick roundup and they concluded that it aint good for extreme overclocking but it is ok for a little bit of OC'ing which I may do.

not all conroe boards support memory divider lower then FSB. well the DQ6 doesn't. i know the P5W does.

But even cheap memory will let you hit 500FSB 1:1. Most boards won't be stable at that FSB anyway. It should be a non-issue with the absence of downclocking dividers, although they would be nice to have.

AFAIK the absence of downclocking dividers is a hardware limitation on the 965 chipset. That would mean even if it had BIOS support it would not work. Anyone care to comment on this?
