I love racing. Like really really...

But racing is expensive (IRL) and now without the space to store go-karts, drift pigs, and budget circuit cars (and lusting over one of each...), I went down the sim route.

    Parts list:

    Obutto Cockpit
Logitech G25 w/ Chilicoke Wheel adapter and extended padals.
    Sparco 330mm wheel.
    Clubsport Pedals
SST Lightning H-Pattern Shifter Thrustmaster TH8RS Shifter
    Frex Shift+ Sequential Shifter
    Buttkicker Gamer
Leo Bodnar SLI-Pro shiftlights & data display
    Logitech Z5500
    Symprojects Rev, Speed, Gear boards
5" Saas Monster Tach w/shift light

I started off with the Obutto Cockpit, supplied by Brendan at Simparts.co.nz.
Top service. Stupidly fast delivery. Couldn't fault the guy!

This was soon modified to take 3x Dell 3007wfp's (already had 2 on my main rig, and a 3rd was found on OCAU at a price I couldn't refuse...) Heavy gauge square tube steel was used and simply mitred and welded into shape and the screens hung perfectly. :D

Sim racing at 7860x1600 is pretty friggen sweet.

The Obutto comes with a small wheel plate as standard.
I really wanted more room under the screens and a place to hard mount the Frex shifter. I went searching through the shed for something to make a top out of, and found an off-cut that was perfect in size!

Some trimming, and cutting with the jigsaw. Sanding and painting.
The result is perfect for my needs.

The Logitech Z5500's were just mounted last night.
I fabricated some aluminium brackets that support them above the screens.
The rear surrounds are just temporarily mounted until I can be bothered to make a permanent solution.

    Thanks for reading.

Looks good but why the Mac keyboard and mouse? :upset:

I plan to build my own flight simulator cockpit but I don't even have enough room at present for that.

You need a fan to blow on your face, simulating the wind of a real open-top racer :D

    *edit*

Wire the fan up to your pedals, so the harder you accelerate, the stronger the wind!

    :p

Ahh fair enough. Yeah those mice are fucking crap. Even the mac users I deal with replace them with real mice.

Also, you should get one of those arse-rumbler things for your seat!

If you have any plans you would be willing to share mate ? Mainly the Z5500 mounts I will probably stick with the obutto triple screen mounts for standard size screens etc.

I have an Obutto as well. But to take the large 27" screen I have currently a Roccaforte Gaming Desk in front of the seat.

I having been thinking of mounting my rear z5500 speakers ever since I got the seat but havent found suitable way of doing it yet.

Really nice setup.... but I think I can now see why some of the top racers are so consistent with there lap times, I have no hope with my bolt on to desk wheel which has a tendency to come loose during race a and a chair with castors which wants to move backwards when I hit the brakes.... lol :)

    But like someone said....perfection

This is awesome! I have been looking at the Obutto racing cockpits tonight. I think I will end up getting one with all the goodies (desk plate, triple screen, etc.). I have just one dilemma... where to put it!

Who needs a real car when you have this. Looks like a very clean setup. Racing sims are not my thing, but have to give credit to the thought gone into this one.

Very tidy ride mate well done! Obutto + Leo Bodnar shiftlights = awesome!

Your setup is so clean! Has it remained as sturdy over the months, any teething issues?

How are you finding the clubsport pedals do they simply plug into the g25 control unit? I've never had the chance to use a set but gee they look the part.

Here is my a couple pics of my sim, we should hit the track some time!
