Hey guys I'm in need of some sort of media player that I can plug a usb into and then that will plug into HDMI. It doesn't need to have a hard drive or anything like that, it just needs to be able to support all the popular codecs so I can play shows and movie off a usb that I plug into it.

What options do I have please?

I found a Western Digital "WD TV Mini" in a box of crap someone gave me. Analogue output only, but it plays media off a USB stick (no Netflix/YouTube/etc, USB media only).

Google says there's newer ones that do HDMI. Maybe find a cheap one on eBay?

I just got vodafone tv yesterday, and was surprised how android tv has become.
to be able to watch dtv on it without switching the tv source is such a convenience!!!

it got updated to android 9 the moment i set it up, UI is very responsive, no lag.
Setup kodi etc with no problem.

So happy that i can finally can get rid of my 5 yo kodi box (NUC).
