Looking for a good quality, durable (everyday usage) USB-C hub/adapter. Needs to have: - HDMI - Ethernet - SD card reader Been looking at these 2: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/promate-corehub-c-usb31-type-c-hub-with-3-usb30-ports-promate/ https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/satechi-type-c-pro-hub-w-4k-hdmi-thunderbolt-3-space-grey-satechi Has anyone had any experience with these or any others and have recommendations? I'm all ears. If it's possible to connect 2 external monitors to it, thatd be even better, but happy with just the one. Thanks! EDIT: Found this: https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/usb-c/owc/usb-c-dock Damn it looks bulky though..
For those interested I went with this: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/astrot...antypec-pd-function-for-macbook-pro-astrotek/ $80 delivered and all the features I need.
Holy crap, that's a gigantic dock! Seems we are going down the same path as phones. Smaller, thinner, lighter, less connectors, less battery... So that you end up having to buy an add on brick that is as big as the phone to make it useable... Z...
I couldn't stand 30hz on my 4k monitor, so I found this to be the only 60hz 4k usb-c adapter - it uses display port instead on HDMI to acheive it: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-Compatible/dp/B06Y5N3YCD
I also have one of these: https://m.banggood.com/MantisTek-H2...D-Charge-Hub-TF-SD-Card-Reader-p-1247513.html It's pretty good, though only 30hz. It gets warm to the touch, but works perfectly.
I use this: https://www.hypershop.com/collectio...hub-for-usb-c-macbook-pro-13-and-15-2016-2017 No complaints, works well. I've mostly swapped to USB-C for things now, but it worked fine when I needed it.
Ah looks good, was going to get something with a similar design. I like how it sits next to the laptop. Sadly, need an ethernet port. Mine arrives tomorrow (hopefully)
