For the Sydneysiders here: wandered into Toys 'R Us at Parramatta Westfield today and saw a whole stack of Vulcans - can't remember how much they were though (damned short term memory...)

Nerf Recon CS-6 for $24.99 at Kmart starting Thursday 13th November.

I'd probably go for the Target one though for $29.99 since it has 20 extra darts...

The only thing about the recon's is the fact that they use the streamline darts and only that unless its modded..

All the other guns I have can use all kinds ie. Micro suction, Screamer, Dart Tag, Streamline, Buzz bee darts..

So this is kind of annoying in a war cos you can't just go around picking up any bullets from the ground, you'd have to look specifically for the streamlines...

Also the Recon is not that great a gun IMO, it seems more like a gimmicky gun w/ all the attaching parts.

My favourite gun is the Iron Man Firefly, 8 SHOTS, Fast out of the box.
    $49.95 @ Target
    $29.90 @ Toys R Us CLEARANCE
$26.00 @ Kmart CLEARANCE (Impossible to find by now)

    :)

I tend to agree... It doesn't shoot with much velocity and all the aiming attachments are as useless as a screen door on a submarine. Looks cool though. The girlfriend may be getting me a Vulcan for christmas if she can find one!

The Vulcan is not all that useful either. Its heavy and bulky to run around with, takes AGES to reload since it only comes with one belt. So give that 1 - 2 mins to fill the belt, and 20 seconds to hook it up.

And finally it tends to jam too much to make it worthwhile to use (unless its just me or my gun). Other points - it sometimes shoots a few darts less than a 1 M away, its not as fast as I was expecting and its range is only great for indoor wars.

Aside from all these points, you still gotta own a vulcan just for the fact that it looks awesome and its so intimidating. You'll get owned in a war but at least you got a vulcan :)

You play gun games with them? Maybe Im showing my age by not understanding the appeal.

I just shoot the cat, the missus and any one that enters my front door if I have one near by. Other than that they sit in the corner so that I can relive my youth when needed.
