Looking at building new pc in 2 weeks and im torn between 2 cards:

Galax GTX 1070TI Ex Sniper White
    $660
    or
Galax GeForce GTX 1080 EX OC Sniper $749

Back ground, will be running a R5 1600 and a 1440p monitor and im doing an all white build so please only focusing on these 2 cards.

i see the new ti has about 5-10% performance difference but im not sure if it is worth the extra $90.
i am wanting something that will last, so basically im asking is the $90 worth it?

I'd always go with the better Card if you can afford it, apply a small over clock to the 1080 and you can crank your settings up at 1440p

You are asking the wrong question, nothing will last after a year or a new gen of GPU if you are constantly chasing the max settings of AAA titles of every year.

What you should be asking yourself is "can the GPU run the games I frequently play?"

i'll recommend getting the 1070, or go all out and get the 1080Ti, anything in between is not worth it

Really wanted a white card so not really keen on the 2bd hand market, I ended up going with the 1080 since it has better memory bandwidth and should hold up better with age at 1440p.

Thanks for all your advice guys, only 1 week till I can pick it up :)

That's a nice looking card. Not what you'd call earth shaking performance, but if its enough for the job, and white is your thing... that's a very pretty bit of kit.

Given my Fury X is punching over 60fps in BF1 in 4K (High settings with post processing on medium... cannot see difference in Ultra) I would say it really is possible for a good card to last longer than a year. I was set to change but no need.

Also I have a tendency to grab one game and play it a fair bit, so not always jumping to the latest unoptimised release and then being upset about performance.
