You were happy to pay the price you paid when you first saw it, can't undo it now, don't worry about it.

I agree it may be a mistake now to have bought that TV, but we thought we would be in our brand new townhouse by now and using it, that ended up not being the case, and a lesson not to believe everything your real estate agent and/or lawer tells you, we was mislead about the release of the title on the townhouse by the titles office, and now we are i limbo waiting for it to happen so we can settle and move in.

We have not picked up the TV yet from our local HN store, it was bought online, and not sure if we can return it and get our money back, probably not now.

At the time of purchase, yes i was happy with the deal.

Great. So just ask for a refund or exchange?

Were there any other models roughly in that price range that interested you?

I'd ask for a refund... You haven't even picked it up yet

That's a pretty significant loss though in just two weeks

    Yup.

There shouldn't be an issue with just refunding the money, hasn't even been 30 days since it was bought.

Its an Ebay code that expires today so it's been up for a while. A new code might come out after this one expires, not sure when these EOTY sales are finishing, end of the month is my guess.

My old man just got a 65P7 for $1080 - such a great TV and amazing value (I paid like $1300 for my 65N7)

Ps. people who say Hisense is crap don't know what they are talking about IMO

You've personally experienced problems with Hisense?

When i went into the store to see the Samsung tv in person on the wall, there was an LG the same, or similar price, and we kind of noticed a slight color difference, and there was a panasonic between those 2 that looked darker, like deeper green, red and blacker black.

I've never owned a hisense but they aren't regarded as top tier by any means and certainly are on the budget ends of TV's. Not saying you won't be satisfied but well, it's just not going to compare probably in a lot of aspects, to your top ends, of course.

Why are you looking, whenever I buy something of significant value, I immediately stop looking at prices of said something.

    Ignorance is bliss

My end of town is usually 10K plus - either projection on a very large screen, or some high end oddball...

Speaking of which, I'm having a... Erm... Discussion with a client re the frame TV's. We've spent decades getting to the point of 5mm and less bezels, and all of a sudden, people go nuts over a TV with a late 1990's sized bezel, because art mode!!! *head hurts*

    Z...

We just picked up a Hisense R5 58" from the Good Guys for $750.

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/hisense-58-inches-r5-4k-uhd-smart-led-tv-58r5?rrec=true

It was a replacement for our 2011 model Samsung Series 5 51" plasma so I'm sure any TV would be an upgrade....

Old TV blew up & our insurance cash settled for $650 on the old TV so for a $100 out of pocket we're happy!

The picture looks great (just upgraded the Netflix account to make the most of 4k).

The only down side is that the kids still play my old Xbox 360 and this TV has no component in - just composite which looks like arse (I've no HDMI on my Xbox). A converter is expensive as so may be time for a console upgrade....

360's are worth almost nothing (i found mine in the hard rubbish) but i'd recommend an XBoxOne. Has a great 4K bluray built in and plays the majority of 360 games.

The S is where I's go unless you think you can splash the cash on an X.
