Harvey Norman give you a great deal on your premium $200 hdmi cable that has better picture quality than the $10 MSY one

Usually I would never recommend hn.. but if you know a guy there... they can usually beat competitors price easily... I have a guy I usually go to and he beats all prices no problems.. no negotiating... I just tell him the best price I've seen and he beats it.

People have a choice when it comes to cables, pay $200 or pay $10, same as they have a choice when it comes to choosing a retailer, in the end most people don't give a toss about sales people, service, or quality, if they can get a good deal, they will go there, regardless of reputation.

In the next few days I'll be buying one of the following 3 tv's from appliancecentral's ebay page, all end up being around the $800 mark shipped after the 20% off code but having some trouble finding reviews as these tv's have just been released! Does anyone have experience with these?

    Hisense 50R7
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/hisense/hisense-50r7-series-7-50-4k-uhd-smart-uled-tv/383761/

    Samsung UA55RU7100WXXY
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/samsung/samsung-series-7-ru7100-55-4k-uhd-led-tv/380887/

    LG 55UM7600PTA
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/lg/lg-55um7600pta-um76-series-55-4k-uhd-led-tv/382994/

I had my heart set on the Hisense 50R7 but I'm not sure anymore.. Usage would be movies/tv shows predominantly, followed up some Switch/PS4.

I wouldn't bother with LG unless it's OLED due to IPS panels.

    Hisense have improved...

I didn't select times to go there, i only did it whenever i went to one one of the HN stores to buy or look for something, but reckon i saved at least 50 people from being completely ripped off with laptop purchases, and most of those who i saved didn't really want or need the bag, mouse and product care, but didn't know that windows had antivirus built in, but they all felt pressured to to buy that bundle, and it was a complete ripoff.

I could cite a few classic examples of me saving someones bacon, but it would take me forever to type it all up in here, needless to say on one occasion i got kicked out of the store and told not to go back there, because one salesman had not only sold a lady the add on pack with her $500 laptop, he then tried to get her to upgrade the McAfee antivirus basic version to a full blown professional version that had a firewall in it, costing her an extra $100, and that really pissed me off.

2 weeks later i walked back into the same store and it was business as usual, not one person recognized me.

Oh sure, of course, we are all subject to our own experiences. It was just unusual from my perspective that's all.

I bet you would not touch it with a barge pole unless you absolutely had to, and was screwed for cash.

If your talking about the expired OzBargain deal, they came with extended 5yr warranty. I'd buy one after spending hundreds on extended warranties in the past for TV's that never had a problem! And if it has burn in or other bad issues your not happy with, can return for full refund within 30 days anyway

Used to have a 50" Samsung Plasma TV i bought for new and racked up over 50,000 hours of run time! Had it for over 5yrs and only major issue it had was when I gave it away to a relative, and they where telling me the HDMI ports don't work. They later admitted they had TV on and plugging a HDMI video camera in-out-in-out over and over and being impatient until the HDMI ports blew (what a genius)!

I think the whole situation is BS really. These companies give a ridiculous 1 year parts and labour warranty, who the eff expects a TV to only last a year? And this includes very expensive TV's. It's just a stupid situation and probably why we have fair use laws in this country.
