For Nurien... OCAU top tip - in nVidia driver settings - set the Nurien.exe to force AA and AF for smoother looking hair/dresses to enhance your "Korean chicks in Unreal Engine 3.0" experience

    Sweet, downloading now!

Aww, I have a game called Crazy Machines 2 which has some bonus levels for those with PhysX cards, I was hoping I'd be able to play the levels with these new drivers, but I cant :(

Ok these are the results I got - Nurien on default everything, haven't messed with config files (yet), No modified AA/AF thru NV CP either.

    Q6600 @ 3Ghz, BFG280 @ stock, 8600GT @ stock (when used), Vista x64 SP1, PhysX 8.08.1, FW 177.83 WHQL.

    GTX280 GFX & PhysX
    ------------------------------
    Avg: 50.4 FPS
    Max: 83.4 FPS
    Min: 32.8 FPS

    GTX280 GFX, 8600GT PhysX
    ------------------------------
    Avg: 33.4 FPS
    Max: 74.0 FPS
    Min: 20.3 FPS

    GTX280 GFX, Q6600 CPU PhysX
    ------------------------------
    Avg: 14.8 FPS
    Max: 48.9 FPS
    Min: 10.8 FPS

EDIT - Here are results for the GTX280 doing PhysX & GFX, without the desktop extended to the 8600GT (A limitation in Vista Display Driver model requires the second card even if it just used for PhysX to be an active desktop source also.)

GTX280 GFX & PhysX (No 8600GT desktop extension)
    ------------------------------
    Avg: 53.2 FPS
    Max: 135.6 FPS
    Min: 34.7 FPS

    Wow which demo/benchmark was this?

I also myself have a 512mb 8600GT lying around that I might chuck in my main PC for PhysX should it prove worthwhile :).

So far the 8600GT seems like a poor alternative if you have a GTX280 as main card, if you have a lower end GF9 or 8 then it would probably be worth it. I have found the 8600GT has helped me getter better frames in only one UT3 PhysX map (HeatRay_PhysX), otherwise results have been slower than using the GTX280 by itself.

Is it just me or does the shock rifle not work "properly" in the HeatRay_PhysX map? If you alt-fire then primary fire, it won't recognise the primary fire command for quite some time?

I don't know if my system was lagging or what - but it worked fine in the Tornado map...

In HeatRay_PhysX & Lighthouse but not Tornado the shock rifle is replaced by the "Gravity Wave Cannon"... same weapon slot, but modified to create PhysX based stuff and to puch objects around etc, so it wont work the same as the shock rifle.

EDIT - Some more Nurien results after an overclock or 2.

    Q6600 @ 3.6 Ghz, BFG280 @ 700/1530/1200, Vista x64 SP1, PhysX 8.08.1, FW 177.83 WHQL.

    GTX280 GFX & PhysX
    ------------------------------
    Avg: 66.8 FPS
    Max: 173.7 FPS
    Min: 44.2 FPS

    GTX280 GFX, Q6600 CPU PhysX
    ------------------------------
    Avg: 20.9 FPS
    Max: 61.6 FPS
    Min: 13.0 FPS

Well that's me out on Nurien.

Tried to download it, got to 88% in that stupid nvidia downloader, and it says file size mismatch or some other rubbish

So not wasting another 500Meg* to get it again....*sigh*

    * And no, resume doesn't work.
