    Look up on the difference between direct and indirect light. Pointing your face directly at the sun with eyes closed is radically different to looking at objects that reflect sunlight.

    Bah, why am I even arguing this? You know what, do whatever you please. It's your health, not mine. I value my eyesight over almost every other sense, and will do everything in my power to keep it healthy and well into my twilight years, when independence is at its most valuable. You can do as you please. Destroy it in whatever way you choose.

    Take a look at the tables on this page, and try a little exponential maths for fun:

    Compare a lamp to an overcast day to ambient (reflective) light to direct sunlight. And by golly I hope you passed high school maths.
