I know about silverFX but how do the other offerings stand up against the likes of VSCO?

I had used these on and off in the past but at the discounted price with an additional 15% off coupon these are great value.

Using mine with Lightroom 4. I just wish they were as well integrated in LR as they are with Photoshop as most still launch a standalone app rather than act as a fully integrated plugin.

SilverFX is fantastic. ColorFX, however, I don't use that much.

Although I haven't used VSCO, from what I've seen, VSCO is best colour film simulation software out there.

I've used both, and yes. I'd definitely say VSCO is the best film simulation plugin there is.

I use both VSCO and Color Efex and find that both products are very different. VSCO does film emulation quite well and extremely fast , but ColorEfex 4 also has a Film filter that’s similar to VSCO. For me, I use Color Efex for detail editing and VSCO for general editing. The advantage with Color Efex is that you can stack multiple filters on top of the image and the ability to control the intensity of the effect using U-point, so there’s no need for multiple layers in Photoshop.

Similarly Silver Efex is used for detail B/W conversion, VSCO has some amazing 1 button B/W effect but it’s no where near the control of Silver Efex.

Here's a test of a 4 stops under SOOC and a recovery done in Nik Color Efex (detail extractor, curves, film emulation & cross processing). LR starts to introduce artifact on the extreme end of the slider, that's where Nik software come in.

Started looking in to this - and it seems the STUCKINCUSTOMS code still works.

Trey Ratcliffe could probably put his kids through college with the kickback from that code. I think it will exist until the end of time.

No complaints from me. $23 is at least a day's worth of coffee.

I'm certainly a fan the Nik Collection and whole heatedly agree that Silver Efex is the B/W plugin I've used. I'd be happy to pay the $149USD for Silver Efex alone. It has streamlined my B/W workflow quite substantially and cut large chunks of time out of post production.

Take the image bellow for example. A lot of fine detail in the highlights against quite a contrasting background. It took a lot of fiddling in Photoshop/Lightroom to get a similar result, or less than a two minutes with Silver Efex - from import to export.

Integrates with the Adobe suite seamlessly. When you have hundreds of images to process, it's money well spent.

^Free "to focus our long-term investments in building incredible photo editing tools for mobile..." :tired:

Don't think it's had an update since 2014. So no surprise they're giving it away now.

Cool that they're offering a refund to those that have just bought it though. Still an incredibly powerful editing suite.
