Currently with Optus with an S7 for $48/month with the contract about to expire, so i'm looking for a good deal to switch to with a new phone.
If we can't find one then i'll just go to a Sim only plan for the time being..

I'm kind of looking at this:
    https://mobile.woolworths.com.au/p/...ectedVariant=SAMSUNGGALAXYS10EPRISMWHITE128GB

But i can't work out the finances..
It says: Total minimum cost $1,218.80

    And:
    $61.61 per month
    $20 plan + $49.95 handset
    - $8.34 discount

But that still doesn't work out.. what am i missing?

Otherwise.. any other deals i should look at?

Happy with either android or apple?
    Contract or no contract?
How much data do you need?
    Do you need unlimited calls?
Happy with a last gen phone?

Android or WHAT? wash your mouth out... ;) (Android only thanks)
    doesn't matter
    2-5gig i guess
it makes it easier i suppose... though we don't really use our phones much except to call each other
If it makes a large enough difference to cost..

I'm told Telstra have better plans coming next month.. so i guess i'll wait a little bit...
But current plan runs out June 15, so don't have much time arggh..
might have to go no contract sim only for a bit...

That is the other option as the phones we have currently are perfectly fine...just 'old' (Galaxy S7)

I'm also thinking of getting new phone outright or on contract(if it's good).

I have Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini atm, I like it cos it's small but it's a cheap low end phone(paid ~$150-$200 new, year n half ago), camera quality is poor and short battery life. and I think Samsung Galaxy S10e is similar size.

I don't use phone much but I'm thinking of getting Samsung Galaxy A30 outright(~$380) or Samsung Galaxy S10/S10e on contract.

That's a really good deal I think. But you are right, prices doesn't match.
    Total minimum cost = $1478.64 (61.61 x 24), not $1218.80 ($259.84 difference)
It should be $50.78 per month x 24 to be $1218.80.. [but even $1478.64 is still much better than Optus's S10e plan($1656, 69 x 24) with only 4GB data per month]

Anyway looks like Woolworth has "Save $200 on Galaxy S10" promotion til 30th Jun, but prices doesn't match up.

Link: Woolworth Samsung Galaxy S10 - Save $200

    S10e 128GB = min cost $1218.80 (but actual min cost = $1478.64 on 24mth, or $1718.64 on 36mth) = extra $259.84 on 24mth
    S10 128GB = min cost $1368.92 (but actual min cost = $1628.64 on 24mth, or $1868.76 on 36mth) = extra $259.72 on 24mth
    S10+ 128GB = min cost $1518.68 (but actual min cost = $1978.80 on 24mth, or $2218.68 on 36mth) = extra $460.12 on 24mth
    S10+ 512GB = min cost $1868.96 (but actual min cost = $2218.80 on 24mth, or $2368.80 on 36mth) = extra $349.84 on 24mth

Once you click "Order S10x" button, then click on "Buy Now", there's a option to Add promo code. But according to google search you don't need to enter any code for "Save $200"..
And even with the $200 discount it doesn't make up for the $259.72 to $349.84 price difference.

Worked out it's the handset repayments and only 1x monthly plan payment that they are showing as the minimum amount...

So over 36 months (which doesn't really bother us) it's $47.74

riiight.. that's some weird formula they are using. So you can cancel the contract any time by just paying for the phone price since they have overpriced each phones?
    i.e. S10e/S10 RRP = $990/$1150, Woolworth's S10e/S10 = $1200/$1350

But Woolworth seem to have really cheap plans tho, so maybe it's better to go on 36mths contract?
    Woolworth's $20 per month plan = unlimited call/sms + 5GB data
    Optus's $45 per month plan = unlimited call/sms + 4GB data
