saw this coolant today in a 5L bottle for $4.99
so i thought SCORE! it says the "new organic formula" doesnt contain any phosphates and borates. it was also crystal clear green as in cordial green not cloudy in any way, now for uv testing

    Bottle itself
    [IMG]

no lights, notice how clear it is, under white light it is VERY flurescent :)

2nd pic, uv in comp, NOTE: is CLEAR uv reactive, not blurry, just shitty camera. it is that bright regardless of where uv ccfl is.

3rd pic uv cathode is 20cm from the coolant in the glass.

    PROS
    +clear and uv reactive clear
    +cheap ($5-9 for 5L bottle)
+DOESNT froath, if you shake it up it froaths then disappears in about 2 seconds.
+juding by clarity, %90 water at least
+contains FORMIC ACID, i can tell because it smells like ants, this acid will react with calcium carbonate but is too weak to react with most metals unless in a complete ALU setup.

    CONS
-Tectaloy (not the best rep), have yet to see if this causes corrosion even though the phosphates and borates in normal coolants arent present
    -NO anti-freeze/boil protection

the coolant is specified do stop calcium buildup and worthy of 100,000km (for 3 years)

I am completely off tectalloy, after running it for less than 2 weeks my clean tubing had shit all over it again... So I think its safe to say that its the tectalloy pooping on my tubes :/

I just put Nulon Red into my system and wanted it to look its best so i pulled the entire system apart AGAIN and cleaned out the tubing with a strip of rag with a knot in the end, takes fucking ages! Also killed any nasties with the home brew evaporating metbisulphite or whatever it is.

It was so worth it though, Nulon Red is incredible :D i just gotta put the comp back together so expect a thread later tonight!

hmm looks interesting, of course from a rice standpoint it's still green... whether that's a good thing or bad depends on your opinion really, but i think diversity is always a good thing.

are you going to be testing it in your system? going to be the OCAU guinea pig? :p

rubba-chikin - yeh, i've bought a 2.5L container of Nulon Red... can't wait 'till my system's up to throw it in.

swifty devil: have a think about why the coolant is still cool.
Is it because being transparent is doesnt absorb as much sunlight?
or is it cool because it evaporating at a much faster rate than the other coolant?

I dont think exposure to sunlight is that reliable a test

Swifty Devil - there are 2 different cheap pumps at Bunnings -
    a $9 one and a $15 one
Trust me and go for the $15
I'm pretty sure its a 400lt /hr and it is an absolute die hard. I've had mine going with Nulon Green for about 5 months in a tank and then modded it to run inline and it has now being running for another 2 months!

On the subject of calcium buildup - I had these fuzzy little white ball things growing and circulating in the coolant so i put in an inline filter - a watering system type and that fixed it. Saves me from cleaning it out every month.

okay most blocks have anodizing if the top is aluminium, if this corrodes then get the top POWDER COATED ($20) so get the hell outta my thread and delete your posts :0
