Hey guys, I just bougt a second hand Corda Rock
    http://www.meier-audio.homepage.t-online.de/

I am ;ooling for some headphones that will suit well with this amp. I used to own Beyer DT770 80 ohm and ran them with a Xonar STX and I really liked them so I'm thinking of buying the 250 ohm version.

Can anyone tell me if this amp will power them ok and/or any other recommendations would be great, cheers.

By boom tish do you mean boomy and bass heavy? I thought the DT770 80s had a fair about of bas but not a stupid amounts like some Beats I've heard.
My thoughts are if the 250ogms cost the same but you need to amp them, you'll get better quality sound, why else would they sell them.

Not sert om closed just lookingg at options up to around $300

Slightly V shaped. Bass n treble.

The 250 ohm aren't really much different bud. Don't bother "upgrading".

So $300 and runs off the STX card?

    Open or closed fine?

No something to trun off the Corda Rock I just bought, linked in the OP.

The DTY70 80s were my first decent pair of headphones and I'm eally interested in seeing what makes an amped gead
Actually something to run off the Corda Rock amp I linked in OP.

The DT770 80s were my first decent pair of headphones and I'm really interested in seeing what makes an amped headphone better., no preference to open or closed.

    Thanks for that.
Do you have any experience with the Monolith M1060s?
I've been looking at a lot of reviews and was considering the HD650s then I found this guy on Youtube with a recommended headphone list https://www.reddit.com/r/Zeos/comments/97mi5s/zguides_headphones/ and started looking at the M1060s
After I read your reply I watched this
II'll have a look at those Sony's too thanks.

At 500grams any headphone can go fuck itself :D

    HD6XX - 260grams
    Sony Z7M2 - 340grams
    Meze 99 - 260grams
    DT770 - 270grams

Heaps of poeple are happy enough with heavy headphones, but I can't stand anything in that realm.

    Not today. Ended yesterday.

They put the price of the Z7 back up to over $500 just before the sales anyway.

    Still potentially going for $599.

Find the B Stock. Enter ELEGIAAUG19 at checkout and let me know if still works.

The B stock is new, well was for me.

Code worked few weeks ago still.

I bought them 599, fit gave me a headache, sold them 580 week later.

High quality sound for 600. If you like the Focal sound.

I was actually trying to find out how bad the clamp force was. My head is sorta big.

My head is big too. Like, largest cap on largest setting that normal places sell.

I had then fully extended, clamp force wasn't huge, and pressure on top of head was too much. If anything I wanted more.

The HD650 definately has more clamp on my nog. Same with most Beyers.

Aeon, HD800, Z1R have all fit my head well enough.

I was torn between the Elegia or a CIEM. Need something portable for gym use. The ciem option is more expensive for anything above a triple BA driver setup but isolates background noise the best.

Elegia isn't a gym phone. It's big. The focal cans are actually big.

CIEM for sure. They start at like $400 for cheap ones haha. $800 for entry branded ones
