    Zounds!

Whats the general feeling towards TPG? It's all well and good to offer an awesome plan, but if the service is shit then you kind of get screwed.

Damn this could be what I'm looking for!

All I need now is for them to give me a dynamic IP on this plan and I'll be switching from internode ASAP

Holy....crap. That is just huge. I struggle to get through my 60G/month......I cannot imagine having anywhere near 150G/month.

And just an amazing price. Let's hope it succeeds.

Perhaps they are pushing these forward due to the node problems recently.

Doesnt say it has a static IP, however Static IP would be consistant with the other TPG plans.

Why do you need dynamic IP plan? Do you get banned from alot of places?

I'm very happy with my TPG service - no isues to speak of.

If this plan does get released, then I'll be moving from my current $89.99mth 50GB plan to this new one - cheaper, more download allowance, albeit shaped at a lower rate.

I wonder what i could download.... you'd be able to start your own internet service.

I am activating my adsl2+ 18gb service at the moment which is $50. 150gb is insane...

I just churned to ComCen, will try them for 6 months, I don't really like TPG

I only have Optus DSLAM as well, not sure if TPG is on that.

If people are still happy with the plans in 6 months I will prob churn again

Can anyone explain why my syd house can get telstra adsl2 but not tpg/internode/etc?
    We're on the s%*^$#@% plan ever, 12gb for $70 a month (adsl2+)

    Edit:
According to the TPG site, my area is ADSL2 enabled too (same as internode) - but when I ring em, they say we cant :?

TPG have been fine for me for the last 3 years, never had an issue except for one or two nation wide slowness problems but overall i cant complain for the price.

I'll definitely be signing up for this when it arrives!

That really would be the best thing, I might just get a second phone line installed and get this plan, 2 ADSL connections FTW :D

Looking at their current plans I just don't understand how in the hell they can make such a great offer? Nothing else they offer is even half as good?

The suspicion is that they've just provisioned additional egress bandwidth to resolve issues with capacity during the peak hours, which leaves them with an under-utilised capacity in off-peak hours.

By offering a plan structured this way, they encourage the heavier domestic users to delay their downloading to offpeak hours. This will (they hope) realign the usage patterns to provide a somewhat more even distribution of load - or at least take the peak of the usage spike.

I can't go into all of the reasons I need a dynamic IP, but yes, preventing being banned from certain places is one of them. Likewise, there's the issue of security and what not.

Does anyone know if you can pay extra for a dynamic IP? I called them up the other day and the sales rep said that it's static only...

With the PC knowledge I have, I'm sure it'd just be a matter of changing some setting on a server/something like that for the account to have a dynamic IP... right?

40gb is still quite a lot to be able to download during the day. Will sit and watch this one for the mo I think.

I'm guessing after a few months they will either increase the price, reduce the download limit, commence P2P shaping.
