You on the left in 25?
Are you pumping a tonne of clarity on these in post? I love the composition of 24 but it looks too sharp.
I mostly work in photoshop so not clarity but a high pass filter has been applied to certain parts of the image, is there any particular parts you are talking about?
I'd like to see the sky a soft water-colour, without the noise. You could mask the sky before any detail processing takes place to avoid this. The part that looks too sharp to me is the foreground on the left, the rocks and foliage. That's just my personal preference though.
These are great. Any-one from Adelaide doing similar work ?
great drone-cam work!
Nice photos, how difficult was it getting your remote pilot licence from CASA ?
Splendid sets; more...
Was just about to ask that since just about all of newcastle and the beaches is banned flight areas due to Customs helicopters and the pilot helicopters going in/out of the port, along with it being a play area for the RAAF.
Wow, these are fantastic. These drones are getting better and better. What is the max distance they can fly / shoot from?
Thanks everyone, I will try and post up any new shots I take. If you would like to see any of my other images you can find me on Instagram. The RePL course took 5 days to complete, it was actually really fun as we got to fly some big machines.
Most of DJI's drone have a range of quite a few kilometers
Sheesh. That is much more than I expected. Very impressive.
Cool did you do it at warnervale ?
The issue with Newcastle is the Westpac rescue helicopter base at Broadmeadow has 5.5km restrict airspace radius according to casa app, you cannot legally fly in this zone without a licence and it covers all of Newcastle City and the coast, except for part of nobbies headland. The broadmeadow Westpac base has a published RNAV instrumental approach procedure which maybe explains why no drones?
Anyway it's a bit of a pain if you do live in Newcastle and want to fly drones as most of the interesting stuff is in the restricted airspace. Its epecially frustrating since the base actually moved to Belmont 11 months ago and Broadmeadow has gone extremely quiet in the mean time. Broadmeadow is now the admin centre + heavy maintence so hopefully they relax on that one.
Have you have had any dramas flying in newcastle?
Guys I work with in different parts of the country have in the last 6 months or so been approached in different places by the Federal police and also military staff in uniform and told in no uncertain terms to stop flying and don't come back or else!
Love the shots at Nelson bay btw.
Newcastle’s restrictions have nothing to do with the westpac chopper, it’s restructed because of the RAAF/Customs and port Waratah ship pilots
They also have the Newcastle hospital listed still

I notice in the news today DJI will be making you pass a pop quiz before flight by building it into their apps.
Maybe not such a bad idea ?
Here’s one of my images on acrylic
Thanks, its nice to see them in the flesh
