First kingpin that is hybrid, I know what the target audience for this piece is, but still, the card looks ugly and plastic from the video :)

would you really want to go backwards though? I wouldn't worry about it. OC your 2070 and be happy your performing better than a 2060 ever will

I cant do more than 100Mhz on the core otherwise it crashes because its factory oc'd to 1755. So clocks are around the same as my other cards on core, 2085-2100.

I was able to hit 1250Mhz on mem with no artifacts, haven't tried higher but I was running into power limit with 100mhz core and 1250mhz mem. I could only get +80 on core if I used 1250 on mem. I might flash the Lightning's BIOS when its out.

I can see ur benchmark shows a MSI card. Which one do you have ?

The MSI seahawk ek is a lot quitter on coil whine compared to my XC ultra on ek block. The aorus waterforce card was horrible.

Yes they use jetplates in EK and may be AC GPU blocks lol. I guess u guys never open ur blocks..

Also where are all the AMD fan boys ? The new card is 2080 for the same price.. $1300 and u get no RTX/DLSS support.

Just did some googling and you're right, most have jet plates. For some reason I don't remember my titan x having one but I could be wrong.

Also the new amd card is only approx $1000. $699US

Its the same price as 2080, USD699 which is $1200-1300 for basic cards and might go upto 1600 for custom cooling. You will never get 1:1 exchange pricing in Australia lol

If you're going to custom watercool a card, does it matter which you buy? IE: are the PCB's all identical between say the $1999 gigabute 2080TI and the $2499 Asus?

the higher cost cards SHOULD have the better binned A chips. So theoretically if you want the absolute best in OC performance you need to speed a little more. I'm sure someone somewhere has started a database on what card are running the A bin chips.

that being said, i bought the cheapest 2080 PCB on the market when i did mine, ( asus turbo 2080 ), as i saw no point in paying for a better cooler and a backplate i wont use.

    found this on ocn

U can buy any card for WC'ing but from the 3 cards I used, custom ones seem to have less coil whine. Strix might be usable with the Matrix BIOS otherwise u cant flash anything else on it. Matrix/Lightning and KINGPIN cards seems to use top 5% binned chips according to CES coverage by some youtubers.

You do get twice the ram though and a bit over 1/3 more memory bandwidth :)

I purchased a MSI seahawk ek
    mine does
    core 115
    mem 1350
hopefully msi will bring out a bios that does more than the current 110 power limit
dont really want to use the generic bios out there atm

Interesting. Your GPU core was +15MHz on mine, but I scored slightly higher graphics score. Memory was the same.
    That music is epic

It's a graphics score only so I presumed it wouldn't take into account CPU, but in reality it must be doing some of the work.
