Jesus, glad I didn't wait for this and went for the 5700xt.
What a flop that 2080 super is. Mind you they would be stupid to make it anywhere near 2080ti performance, but only %5’ish better than the 2080 is a bit of a joke...
My 1080ti will live on for a while yet
Seems like 1080ti will be one of those cards that goes down in history as one of the best day 1 buys; still in the top pack 2.5 years later.
Gamers nexus and Hardware Canucks basically said don't bother with this. 4-9% increase over a 2080.
I was really hoping that the super launch would result in decent pricing, as my 1080 is dying and will need to be RMA'd...
But I was able to pick up a 2nd hand 1089ti for $650, and couldn't justify the price that 2070s is going for when comparing performance to the ti
yeah wasnt a fan of a 1080 mine died as well rma'd
luckily i got a 2080ti with samsung ram
I still see value in buying a used 1080Ti for gaming, like Straferight said it's still punching hard 2.5 years later.
When are nvidia gonna make better drivers? Still stuck on 425.31 dch because nothing newer works
Working fine here... did you buy a gigashite?
yeah, that happens where there is no competition in the market unfortunately (or fortunately for the 1080Ti owners)....I'm still enjoying the 0% RTX value added, im getting from 20 series only thing I played was Quake RTX demo
btw did they ever updated Tomb Raider with RTX ?
3080ti should be the sweet spot for next upgrade
2080 Super pricing is a joke, yes PCCG doing the usual on release price gouging but still rather expensive.
At a cross road as I was hoping the 2080 Super would be a vast improvement over the 2080 as the 60/70 Supers were over their original counterparts. Any upgrade right now will outdo my 780 Ti classifieds in SLI. I might just get a 2080 Ti fuck it
People say this like PCCG is the only place to buy from. Check the prices at other stores and you see they're all the same.
I said that because everyone say's that so I got in before someone else said it lol.. Was a piss take that's all
But in all seriousness, it looks more viable to just buy a 2070 Super and OC it instead of buying the 2080 Super. At the price point of the 2080 SUper, the 2080 Ti is "cheaper" if you take into account the performance increase you get.
Also I have noticed for a long while now that PCCG don't sell EVGA cards anymore? What's up with that?
2080 buyers be like
They still stock them occasionally, but it's rare....I think they just gave up on EVGA, the high end cards are always delayed on launch or are shipped to distributors in very low quantities, even if you try to order via EVGA shop, they are either gone in 5 minutes or release is pushed back....this happened will 780Ti, 980Ti Hybrid and 1080Ti Hybrid from my own experience, 2080Ti I ended up getting MSI from local shop...
Looking at GPU prices and performance, the 5700XT is locally the best option in that price bracket. Shame about top end. Looks like Ill be sitting out this entire generation and see whats up the sleeve next year.
Depends on whether you want warranty, RTX, newer tech or worried about mining, abuse of said 1080Ti. Got to take those sort of things into consideration when weighing up cost.
RTX is worth precisely zero.
Newer tech is no good if it performs worse per dollar
Mining? Well yeah that would be a problem.
i lol'd because he did, after saying he would never buy one again, has bought another one, and now having issues... again
on a seperate note, what happened to the 1660 and those cards? i would have it might have made some sense to release "super" versions of the cards that don't have the RTX and DLSS to try and cash in on the people who don't want to make that leap yet, then with the NEXT gen basically make it RTX only as the tech will have matured a bit and people more accepting of it
