They're similar tflop performance (though when both at peak OC the 1080 Ti has more compute and memory bandwidth). Significant differences like that are probably due to async compute in dx12 titles., which is definitely nice to have (along with some other new features) but won't benefit everyone, it really depends what you play.

Second hand I would get a 2080 over a 1080 Ti if priced close, but it isn't faster in every title - stock vs stock comparison tends to favor the 2080 though due to the GTX 1080 Ti FE's low default clocks, but this can be countered with the Ti's more OC headroom.

Anyone else using the 425.31 dch drivers find them very stable? Anything new results weird shit happening.

Yep, also the 2080 has 2xfp16 support through tensor cores, and can do concurrent int32 and fp32 calculations. But games need to target these features. I would also factor in the 2080 has less vram, especially if you're aiming for 4k gaming 8gb won't cut it there in the long term.

    In that article -

"But there is another fun direction this can be taken: RTX 2060 SUPER and RTX 2070 SUPER owners can flash their (cheaper) cards up to the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 for some free performance."

Agreed, no idea why you'd want to go from 2080 > 2070 Super

It's the exact opposite of a fuck up to nvidia & their shareholders.

They kept their performance gap over AMD, were able to release a new full price generation despite not really improving the performance, getting to keep their next gen performance improvements up their sleeve to release at their leisure because AMD sure as fuck aren't getting close to them in the next 3 years.

I saw one of those a few days ago on Google Marketplace. Thought it must have been an error. WTF?

It's actually a pretty cool concept for the all in one cards. Tiny pump and rad on the card itself, no extra hoses or fans

Not worth the price but a good idea

Some of it sure, but even NVIDIA know they pushed the gouging to far.

"People were more hesitant to buy graphics cards, NVIDIA said. It added that sales of "certain" high-end Turing-based GPUs (read: the RTX series) fell short of expectations because people were both waiting for price drops and games that made better use of RTX features like raytracing"
