BTW I still think you did a dodgy to get over 30000 on the benchmark
At this stage in the game I wouldn't buy another 2080ti unless you really have some money to burn. Especially the way sli is supported in games today.
Just hold out a year for the 3000 series
sli is more dead than my ability to lose my virginity
twice th e price i bet gonna have to save 4k dolearydoos
I've already waited a year, 2000 series are garbage but my 1080Ti is long in the tooth for VR especially on the Index. give me 3000 series by end Q2 2020 please.
Don't hold your breath.
2080ti Feb 2021
Nvidia are probably just waiting for AMD to announce big Navi to try and take the shine of AMD's announcement. Hell, 3080Ti could already be in production, but there's no point pre-announcing when you currently have the fastest card, all that will do is cannibalize sales of existing stock.
It's like waiting for eternity for new Tech lately and it's going to get worse, almost at the limit of transistor size! Dang, it's not good enough yet, not even close!
spoiler alert nobody but devs/niche productivity people actually use RT/RTX bullshit
I havent for more than an hour or two in each game and turned it off.
RTX series is a godsend for VR
Get a kingpin
Be covered for another year or so .
Can't see a big standard 3080 beating that puppy .
This, though we might see the 3080 Ti a bit sooner/released at the same time due to Nvidia not releasing a 2080 Ti Super. Also "big Navi" will likely perform around the 2080 Ti level so they'll probably want to have something to keep them clear as the leader.
That is, unless at CES they announce a 2080 Ti Super..... In which case, I agree with Feb 2021 .
Who cares if a standard 3080 might not beat it? It will get annihilated by 3080ti, just like all 2080ti's will.
We will see
Hope it is faster .
2080 got whooped by the ti but they are still good cards for gaming.
I agree Ray tracing is a wank and I don't want it.
But you should see some benchmarks because the 2000 series RTX is no better in fact some cases worse garbage at VR than 1080Ti.
Again, I'm waiting for 3080Ti
Also it is overpriced shit, they have already stated 3000 will be 100 dollars cheaper at launch. Why would I buy a 2080?
i agree hence why i didnt waste my time with a 2080
Good question, why would you?
However there is another card called a 2080ti which easily spanks 1080ti performance.
Is it good value? Not really. However it also isn't really a fair comparison cos it has no competition...
Perhaps if AMD were able to make a card that was better than mid range performance, then we'd finally see some price competition. The 5700 series was a decent step forward finally, but still no where near enough to have any impact on the high end.
if amd had a 5990xtx that would spank a 2080ti and 16gb of vram for the same price i would have got it BUT they dont
And they wont until next year when RDNA 2+ is out.
I refuse to enable Ray tracing .
Even though I could and keep max FPS to the monitor (165hz)
The 240hz has been relegated to benchmarking .
True, but I'm Talking VR.
And it doesn't spank much at all over its predacessor in that field.
I agree about the competition, actually isn't Intel supposed to come along and sweep us away this year?
And there is the problem, it’ll probably spank a 2080ti 2 years too late and will be getting spanked by a 3080ti by the time it comes out...at least that’s what history suggests
if AMD released something that actually was the top performing consumer card I’d buy it without a second thought, even with my last experience of AMD being mining on like 20 280x’s in an era of incredibly cancerous drivers and software
Why refuse to turn it on? Some games like CoD modern warfare look far better with it on. Especially since generally the reason to refuse is performance but you say that’s not an issue...
Also unless you’re playing at some peasant resolution with graphics settings not maxed, or you have 2x 2080ti, you aren’t holding 165fps with rtx. Statement is meaningless without context.
I can understand having no interest in rtx. It’s certainly not what made me buy the card, I just wanted the raw performance. But a refusal to use it when it’s there...?
lmao the salt about rtx 2080ti is real.
Your absolutely wrong + it has usbc virtual link alt displayport so its very useful
Even a stock 2080ti spanks a oc 2080 and 1080ti
from what ive heard of the 57xt the drivers are horrid with blank black screen issues a year after launch screw that.
