dont bother bro its barely 10% improvement real world
I've been water cooling since GTX 280 sli.... It feels weird without it!
It won't be which makes me sad and a little piece of me dies each time I think about it. Thankfully I have a 1080Ti to warm myself with at night while playing Cyberpunk until Ampere is released or AMD somehow flips out ends up here:
It's such a gigantic shame that the cycles didn't line up well enough so that we could have had a 2077 TI Super with 3xxx series components.
It's all games though which has me confused. No matter graphics settings be it low or or at maximum the power limit won't go over 88% but in benches it does.
If you're getting 110% power limit in benches it validates your PSU is adequate. Could it be some random in-game setting like FPS limit?
I do have a 120FPS limit to match my monitor Hz but COD, Metro, Control etc don't get near that at 3440x1440.
Fuck it, ordered water block from PLE...
Suddenly 3080ti for cyberpunk has become significantly more likely, since cyberpunk delayed till september 17th. I guess it'll be good having delicious 2nd gen RTX for it. Assuming of course that AMD continues to fail to bring any competition to the high end of GPUs. Maybe we'll also see AMD's claimed 'nvidia killer' with ray tracing but I won't be buying into any of the hype at all until it's in reviewers hands...
lol yeah im thinking what pauly walnuts said here ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
BTW selling my 2080ti
Lol nope how many times have you tried selling your 2080ti now??
Better look at your pricing otherwise the 3080ti will release before you sell it.
If the nvidia rumours are true, it's expected that Ampere will deliver 50% performance and power efficiency gains compared to Turing.
Don't care Tbqh I'm waiting for mcm and rdna2 next year or so
Pick one or halve both
I’ve deliberately dropped out of trying to keep up with what’s what due to the prices. I’m in the early stages of catching the VR bug (about to purchase a Valve Index VR Kit), figured that a new 1080Ti would be great in value these days, to upgrade my second HTPC1 (AIF) which currently has a 970 in it, as a VR rig instead of keeping on having to move my main battle station into a bigger room. It looks like these babies aren’t being sold anymore as new. Huhuhu.
When amd does release big navi (probably just the 5700xt as a mcm) I doubt the performance will be up to par with nvidia.
It will take at least 2-3 generations before it fully matures.
That's smart thinking man..
They say RTX3080's gonna be half the TDP and double the power of 2080 at same price but there's no way NGreedia's gonna keep 3000 series affordable(unless you are Scum, Dannyboi or DarkSnipa).. I bet 3080Ti's gonna cost at least AU$2300-$2500.
I honestly can't see myself buying top of the range RTX card again unless they suddenly release Crysis 4 or Control 2..
I very much doubt there will be a card at 125W and the performance of the 2080 Ti or even a 2080. It's probably based off increased node and architecture efficiency of 'up to' 50% which would mean best case scenario is 66% of the TDP (a 50% improvement is -33%) OR 50% more performance, of which I would still be sceptical. I imagine it will be somewhere in the middle of both of those figures.
I will be over the moon if there's a low profile 75w card that performs like a 2070.
As typical for any new gen, sadly i given up selling my 2080ti
