"half the TDP and double the power of 2080 at same price"
i very much doubt that, maybe more mature 7nm super or 5nm
You guys are just being silly now. We all know that the 3080 Ti will print money and grant wishes.
What the consumer may not be aware of is that the money is not printed for them nor are the wishes granted to them. Quite the opposite in fact...
dont care im not buying one, its just pointless until they can handle the 4k and 8k+ needed for VR
I think its also dependent on the competition from amd/trg. If their big navi does outperform a 2080ti and is in a similar ball park to 3080 with a 30% lower msrp, ngreedia will have to compete. Team green has been able to coast by and charge whatever they want because there is no competition.
Look at how quickly Intel dropped the price od the 10920x by 50% once they realised the competition and price/ performance value amd could offer with ryzen 2 and threadripper.
Being a realist, I see the 3080Ti as being more expensive than 2080Ti variants, and having no direct competition from AMD big Navi.
I’d really like AMD to prioritise high tier performance however I don’t see them running lower yield and margin products before high-mainstream tier.
You're dreaming if you think they're going to sell a 3080ti for less then 2080ti
Isn’t that what he said?
Yep, as jET_M@X said, once AMD can offer something close enough for enough less then nVidia will lower the prices until then, why would they?
The average consumer making the purchasing decision has no idea what is inside the magical computer box. Yes, some of them can now name particular pieces and understand that some particular items might be better than others but that doesn't mean they know the difference. Imagine someone going shopping for a Holden Falcon and you pretty much have the level of understanding average dude gets.
My mistake, dunno why I interrupted that differently
(Agg edit: silly racist comment removed)
GPUs are more important for gaming than cpus these days
lol GPU's always been the most important part of the gaming PC since 3DFX Voodoo, Intel i740, Riva TNT etc.. i mean you could game just fine on Celeron as long as you had decent GPU.
These forums would be so much better without nope and all his bullshit. He literally adds zero informative or worthwhile input
I am finding with VR the CPU is a pretty limiting factor gaming, Although i do agree with you GPU is the primary driver especially when i use the monitor (4k)!
any news on next major gaming (ie: "3080 ti") gpu? should be 2020 right?
I'm expecting AMD & Nvidia to both announce at Computex in early June.
2021 i reckon amd wont have anything until late this year
actually is there a chart (clear and simple and good quality) that shows the last decade of the major (not the hundreds of variants) nvidia gpus? should only be ten or less.
2010 geforce 444
2011 geforce titan
2012 geforce titan x
2013 geforce 1080ti
i want to see the pattern and that should give a good indication.. plus i'm now curious...
pretty sure wikipedia has most of that info about each gen, including the release date and release price
