the extra power might help you get 9000 on the mem.

the extra power thus heat might not give you much more mhz on air cooling.... only one way to find out tho.... ;)

the aorus cooking solution is pretty average.. check on YouTube but there are heaps of videos showing fresh/better thermal paste can bring down your temps, the fan knock? Could be touching the middle one?

yeah it's 100% hitting the middle one when it runs at high speeds. Might pull it apart, repaste see if I can straighten the fans up...

yep got a stable 2100 core and 9000 on the memory very cool how well these over clock.

obviously helps being water cooled and temp not exceeding 46deg on the core.

I also have an extra 92mm fan in the pcie slot to cool the left side of the gpu where some power components and memory are as well as the standard 92mm in the g12 spot

G12 doesn’t support a rtx3080 officially but you can make it fit. If and when I grab a 3xxx card I will make mine fit to good not to.

So now we have seen the 3070 prices what happens to the prices of the older generation?

I think any hopes of getting a super cheap 2080Ti are gone. But what about something like a 2070 super? Any chances for further price drops as they sit on the shelves?

Nope they are pretty much drying up off the shelves..

Barely any new 2080Ti / or 2080 Supers on the shelves..

the cheaper new 2070 Supers have dried up.. (talking <$550)
I think they will go EOL.. and therey will be a void to fill until the 3060s appear..

Has anyone had experiences of black screen flickering during gaming?

I've just started to have it with my Aorus 2080Ti. The screen goes black for about 1-2 seconds, then back on. I looked at the GPU clocks and temp, and all are normal during the 'flickering' it doesn't drop or change. Game just continues as normal. So weird. Not sure if it's the cable, or driver related? I've found a few threads about it on different forums, but are all over the shop - not recent (i.e here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforc.../rtx-2080-ti-screen-bug-flickering-sometimes/ ).

    Anyone got any suggestions?

Suppliers inventory numbers for 2000 series cards have all but dried up. Cannot see any new 2080S/2080Ti at supplier warehouses that I have access too. Example is that I can see Dicker have 8x 2060s but thats it...

    Sounds like a driver issue.

    Download new NV drivers
Download DDU and run it to clear NV drivers off your system
    Install new drivers

Hopefully its something simple like that

Yeah not bad price either but who knows how high it will go.

Just remember in most cases if you disconnect the fans on the lightning to water cool the card goes into limp mode. Something to keep in mind.

You can get around it but it's more stuffing around than some people are willing to do.

btw why does 4K use so much more VRAM? its only 4x more pixels. So cards worked fine with 512mb (or lower i cant remember?) VRAM at 1080p, wouldnt it scale by 4x? so 2GB should be enough for 4K.

textures are independent of display resolution. it would only make a difference if they are changing their MIP levels on textures? so im not sure. do you guys know?

So that didn't work. So bizarre. No idea what's causing it. GPU isn't overheating and still does it if I don't overclock. I feel it could be my display port cable?

Turn off g-sync and see if it still happens. Black screens can occur when nvidia cards drop below the freesync range of some monitiors, don't really know all the details.

I'm getting someone's Gigabyte RTX2080 Graphics card and basically want to build a hobbyist video editing / medium powered gaming machine around it. Any threads that already cover compatible builds (especially for a terrified newbie like myself?)
