I got a Zotac Amp on thursday and loved it. Through work I got an offer on a GTS so I put it on ebay for the same price I got it. Just lost the selling fees which is fine for me.

Hopefully I have the GTS in the next few days.

I am aware that the next gen card is out soon.

But if its 2x the speed and 2x the price, I would still get the GTS. As nothing really needs that much speed at this point of time. Even crysis was fine on the GT. Sure its not Very High quality, but I loved the demo on med-high and played it over and over and over. Great game I bought it online, just waiting for it to come and will play on my new GTS card.

You get GTX like speed for 500 bucks and people are still complaining. Yes 400 would be better, but you are still saving 200-300$ compared to getting a GTX.

Most GT cards still sell for over 400 bucks. The 100 premium is well worth it as you get a decent cooler (sooo many get a DuoOrb for 65$ for their GT cards) and it should overclock higher which means this card will get even faster when you upgrade your CPU down the track.

I like this card. Reminds me of the 7900GTO I had ages ago. Cheaper than the GTX and almost as fast.

If that is true and carries over here as well then that is awsome and brings a option to consumers at a different price segment and perhaps could mean some cheap SLI upgrades for existing GTX owners :).

Nvidia's earnings could go through the roof this quarter too so it makes sense to sell leftover stock at cheaper prices and clear them. Though one would think that nvidia is also losing some cash at the same time when the manufacturing costs of the GTX are taken into consideration. They'd be making a lot more money alone though to make up for it :).

No way! I recieved an email that Komsad was having a promotion on the GTS from Zotac for only 1150zl (Aus$533) when all the other vendors are selling it for over 1600 (AUS$740) here in Poland. (Us Europeans are getting ripped-off, aren't we?) Tomorrow I'm going to recieve my first high-end graphics card ever! I feel like the luckiest man alive! :D

    Interesting reviews.

This card has so much raw power (more than Ultra) but it can't put it into action due to not enough ram and low memory bandwidth. Quite a shame.

If the GT was at the price where it should be I don't think many people would look at the GTS.

But the way it is now I think enough people waiting for GT prices to come down have enough and will just jump for the GTS.

The better cooler alone is worth the premium IMO...

    AnandTech put the cards in this order;

    8800 Ultra > 8800 GTS 512 > 8800 GTX > 8800 GT 512mb> 8800 GTS 640 > 8800 GTS 320

I assume the new 8800gt 256mb goes in between the gt512mb and gts60mb?

    Shame Nvidia...shame :(

EDIT - I also assume that the 8800gts 640mb and 320mb and 8800gtx are all EOL?

Can we also assume we will see a refresh of the GTX and Ultra before the introduction of the 9X series.

I would take it these cards are.. the new GTS can beat the GTX and the GT can beat the old GTS cards. I think the next thing we see is 9xxx.

Considering the cards are using 256bit it looks as thought the 9 series is going to be killer!

    2.4g on ram etc. Wowzor.

Any of the reviews (or user review) feature single GTS vs Crossfire HD3870? Need to see if I've un-necessarily paid an extra $400 :upset:
(I'm capped so it's really slow going for me checking them all atm  )

    All i can say is......

OUCH ! $440-569AU is a very steep price range indeed.

But considering it is on par with the GTX (with lower power draw but higher at higher temps)

    Not a bad deal.

I am still waiting for the 9 series, long overdue !

Not meaning to offend any present owners of the 8 series but........

Old hat really, i mean your only going to get another year of "maxing games out" before they go to the "next generation" (Aka "DX10.1/DX11" or "SM4.1/5.0")

Is anyone here gonna get one of these cards ?

Heaps of people will. I've just sold 3 x Galaxy cards to a group of guys just now. Few pre-orders from WP too.. and another one this morning that wanted the GT but a "cooler" one, so I recommended the GTS.. seem popular atm.
