Guys hoping one someone can help. I am a bit unclear on the power connector requirements.

    Currently have a 650 G2 PSU with 2 x 8 Pins.

    Looks like founders ed - uses a 2x 8 > converted to a single 12 pin & AIB are using 3 x 8 Pins.

Would this mean I could only use a FE?

I believe that the Nvidia requirement for the 3080 is a 750w PS so I'm not sure I'd be risking too much with yours, mate.

Out of interest, what are your expectations of 3090 over 3080?

I think their top sku will challenge the 3080. I don't think AMD has the balls to go higher in TDP to challenge the 3090. But I don't think they need to either. Also AMD needs to announce their DLSS implementation when they announce their gpu's. Thats their main functionality gap atm. Even more important than raytracing imho.

people wonder why i bought a 1000W last year, hell i haven't owned something as small as a 650W in I can't remember how many years.

    8K? Super sampling?

that's what comes to mind to me.

Literally anyone who has stock first then just ship it to comgateway with no state taxes. It seems like a scary difficult process but honestly it is so easy just click a few buttons.

Check back tomorrow when we see how much the 3080 actually go for tonight.

But yeah based on the last few weeks if say $800 to $850 for a good quality card is where it's at.

Apparently they are worth anywhere between $2.50 and $600 but I haven't seen many go for sub $800.

I'm not really worried about power usage. Total system usage was 523watts on doom 4k ultra nightmare with a 3950x on hardware unboxed video. I think most people will be fine 600 if its a gold rated unit.

However. If you havent got a PSU. Maybe better to give yourself some headroom. But if you already have a 600 watt psu. I wouldnt be running out to buy another one until you try the 600 first.

I think the most important question is not the 3080 performance but the price of the AIB cards.....

If you can buy a 3080 AIB for $1150, then the price of a used 2080Ti goes down. to $750-800 IMO

if the price of a 3080 is $1500 minimum, the 2080Ti value lifts..... to maybe $800-$1000

Yeah, I bought an 850w last build about 5 years ago with the thought process that I can get higher power draw in the future. Here we are now and sitting pretty. Not that I'll need it with a 3070, unless I manage to luck in with the FE lottery lol.

Hmmmm, my 600W SFX may struggle - just glad I have a low power i9 - could potentially get away with a 750w

my 1000w is so efficient the fans never spin up. fully passive.

I got the shits because my old one had coil whine under load, crappy Antec, traded up to Corsair.

Do any of the retailers have the card pages up so we can see them? Above in the thread I see a PNY card is listed but its a direct link only - if you go back to nvidia cards on mwave it doesn't show the 3000 series. Is this launch really going to be that bad that we can't even see which cards are available until they are live? It's going to be a bloodbath.
