    https://au.evga.com/products/produc...ily=GeForce+30+Series+Family&chipset=RTX+3080

First i knew they had an AU store, but the URL was piss easy to change to bring up their hidden 3080 stuff

This is what I'm waiting for. Will only be able to fit a 2 fan 3070 in current ITX case (280mm max according to the Cubitek specs), but if it's worth it I'll probably have to get a new case to fit a 3080.

    Yeah totally.

But from most results I'm seeing it's a fairlyyyyy linear FPS to res scale so if we're talking 20fps per million pixels that's 100fps.. I mean seems about right.. but then again, fps per 1m pixels and fps is the exact same metric reaaallllyyy, though I guess fps/1mpix would indicated any variances in exactly what you're describing.

Here's my take.. I just built a new machine with all the bells and whistles, But I'm using my 4 year old 1070 and a stop gap 3100 cpu in it. So technically im not Desperate for an upgrade.. I REALLY want the FE but i dont think ill get one.. im on every list etc.. but now, after reading up and thinking about it.. I am not worried if i have to wait.. Because i can get by on the 1070 for another month.. its been good for 4 years so a month won't kill me.. I have $2000 set aside for Graphics and Zen 3.. So yeah i will try to get a card... but if i have to wait for round 2 its not a bad thing because at least ill be able to see what Big navi brings - if its a good release more choice is never a bad thing.

650 is 100w below recommended. The pins and cables aren't the issue, the draw on those is. I'd recommend getting a new PSU along with it.

Only FE use the new power adapter. Though it's probably setting a precendance that will be transitioned to by AIB in future.

A little test on undervolting / powerlimiting the card I haven't seen elsewhere HERE

Limiting the card to 280w (-14%) reduces performance by 3% and 250w (-28%) by 11%. A 280w limit might be a sweet spot for noise and thermals in compact cases with air cooling.

Fair enough, thanks for the source. I'm kind of surprised, why did they expect so many sales for essentially a 1080ti super with RTX slapped on with a huge price tag?

Not when RTX is involved, which is the entire point and cost of the 2000 series.

Its like comparing a mercedes to a toyota based on speed. There is a lot more to a mercedes then that, same with Nvidia and the 2000 series.

In other words, AMD are all about FPS, Nvidia in general are about FPS + Features, and the 2000 series was almost completely about RTX, you can't just ignore that and say that its better to focus on the 2000 series rather then the 1000 series.

The 1000 series is the true AMD comparison.

As the AMD's Navi has similar functionality to Nvidia's RTX, you could compare Navi to the 2000 serious, most likely the 2080ti, or maybe the 3070.

just a touch too much speculation here, how about we wait for AMD to launch before making such statements of fact.

PCCG just said the MSI Ventus was not $1,599... maybe they meant theirs was more expensive?

Fair, but I'm also just following AMD's consistent history.

The jump they need to make it simply too big, I just simply can't believe it will happen, but I would rather be wrong for the sake of competition.
