Waterblock it, and forget about air coolers
EDIT: Agree, some horrid looking cards out there.
Yep that one is rough on the Eyeballs
Ribbed, for nobody's pleasure.
Ribbed for maximum heat dissipation... except it's made of plastic... doh...
But do they do function as good as the upper echelon? I always tend to go for EVGA and don't have a big enough wallet to try different cards
popped up in mah world news search today
u.s. availability has typically been very good for pc parts. not anymore.
gropec must be making a fortune.
So I had a look at this page

Seems there's possibility for compensation, but hoops to go through I'd imagine
"If the postal operator delivers an item to the wrong address and it does not return the item to the mail stream, it may not be possible to locate your item. The sender can apply for compensation in this circumstance."
Just saw your reply, glad it was sorted! *phew*
yup we got the money back but it took a long time and reckon we got lucky because we claimed that insurance was not offered to us, legally they (auspost) were only obliged to pay out $150 max so considered ourselves very lucky granted in this case getting the card back would have been preferred given how hard they are to find still (at a sensible price).
lessons learnt, always get signature on delivery, this forces them to deliver it to a physical person and not leave it on some randoms doorstep, pay for insurance because things can go wrong.
so my ple 3080ti ftw3 pre-order just got an eta of 6th August, not sure I want it anymore, $2300 does not seem that good a deal today?
Check consumer law as I would be surprised if you would be up for the cost of the preorder if the price is different at the time the order is fulfilled.
price is the same as what I pre-ordered, I didn't pay (EFT option), so yea might just cancel it cause well it don't see that cheap no more.
Still decent in my opinion if you really want one. I haven't seen any other top end card that cheap for 3080TI (but agree it doesn't seem super cheap now as BPC had this at 2.5k). However I always factor in if you are selling some older cards difference may not be that bad as you get a fair bit more back on older gen still than normal.
I recently sold 1080TI/2080TI for more that what I paid for them to swap to 980TI/3080TI so feel my 3080TI purchase wasn't so bad. Some people will tell you way to high and wait wait wait for more price drops but if price is affordable for you and you want the performance now why not?
I can see you have a 3080 FTW3 Ultra, it is going to feel the same though. Trust me I know as I had 3080 Suprim X and now 3080TI FTW3 Ultra. I have no regrets though, love the card and won't be selling it till 4xxx series I'm pretty sure...........
Also I think if you changed your mind you could at least sell it for what you paid unless there is a big drop in pricing over the next month.
For those who upgraded from a 3080 to 3080Ti, or 3080 to 3090 - was there any perceivable difference in real-world gaming performance?
It's PLE - pretty sure they will let you cancel a pre-order any time you want. You don't even need to call them up, you can do it through your account on their webiste.
3080>3080TI here, zero perceivable real-world gaming performance. You would only know if you were looking at a fps counter or numbers from a benchmark.
I'm happy though, I just wanted one.........lol...
I may get shot down for this but I still think 8 core plus cpus are best if you don't want no micro stutters in some games/best experience. I base this on owning last few years 9600K, 9900K, 10900K, 10900KF and 5600X. 99% of games with 9600k/5600X at high res no difference to the other cpus but a few games I play had occasional micro stutters on occasion which really really annoyed me........10900KF is my current combo with 3080TI, running everything I want to play no issues
So now that my Russian reverse scam is over, I thought I'd take a look at the wooden bricks they packed into the EVGA box before returning the package.
It's almost comical how dumb these scammers are. They want to claim that they never received the package when it arrived in St Petersburg.
So what do they do? Take out the GPU, put in a local product which immediately comes up as originating from St Petersburg. Brilliant.
Man, there are some real fuckwits out there.
so money better spend doing an upgrade from 5600x to 5800x you reckon?
I think so but only if you had stutters in games you like. Starcraft 2 I've been playing since forever and it didn't always happen but many games on 5600x it had stutters and same with Final Fantasy XV (doubt I'll play this again though after finishing it...). Most other new games didn't notice much difference but definitely tiny tiny bit better with 8 core plus cpu. 5600x gave to my wife/kids pc.........lol.......figured I want best possible experience since dropped a tonne of cash on high end gear.......
dont we all
