That is kinda surprising given the hooha about the FE cooler
Mainly due to a good history they are basically a known item so everyone knows what to expect from them
Lol Umart sent out their marketing email about the launch and their site is dying again
HURRY! LIMITED STOCK!
this seems about right
I told myself not to get hyped... But yeah I failed miserably. That was even after the reviews came in and it was much weaker outside of those Doom External benchmarks.
Just spoke to PLE. They seem a bit rattled.
They are slowly working through the list. They mentioned they don't know any ETAs yet, or stock. They are planning to send out emails to everyone with what number they are in the pre-order 'list' and a rough eta. He mentioned that will be coming in the next few days.
And yep - they've sold over 4,500 3080's since 11pm. They are going to be busy today.
Yeah same, I'll wait for a fair while and be fine with my stop-gap gpu unless
The carbon/black trim makes the card look so much better, hope I can get one of those for mine.
Thanks for that, I'm a PLE customer, I sent them an email as there was a duplicate price on my invoice, good to know that they are going to be sending out emails... and fingers crossed, honoring these pre-orders, would really like to not lose my place and be moved to the back of the line by having to order elsewhere.
So much pent up demand, it's astonishing that AMD hasn't gotten their shit together.
I think you can read into it exactly as people have bought into the hype and want to be the first to have it, no different to us trying to get hold of early 3080 stock. Sony has had troubles with their consoles in the past, the first release PS3 comes to mind.
Holy shit. How long do you guys expect for your PLE preorders??
Good luck with that. Will be bombed by fake bidders. Or is that the buy it now price
seems like a lot of sales. how legit would that be?
Interestingly not many people went for the MSI trio but the EVGA FTW (including myself) due to the price?
This is why i prefer Ti launches, they are so much more sedate.
Now that should not be allowed! They cant fufill that allocation for years! Taking payment upfront like that is not good. ACCC cant definitely sting you if you take payment without being able to deliver a product in a "reasonable" timeframe.
Yeah big difference in buyer audience size between $1000 vs $2000 GPU.
Even ebay sellers do that. I've got an item I expected to be delivered in a few days, they told me it's on backorder and won't be in for a couple of weeks.
I was just chatting with a good friend of mine who runs a small PC store in NSW and his cost price for the entry level cards (Gigabyte/MSI) are $1400!
Pretty much summed up last night:
