Thanks for the info - I wasn't keen on being the guy that hassles them 0.0003 seconds after placing a preorder :p Will be interesting to see what that email says but there is no way they are delivering 4,500 cards any time soon so there will be tears.

That's what he told me. Comparing some order numbers, he confirmed it's just one after the other, and some order numbers are like 2000-3000 digits apart, so it seems plausible.

FTW/Aorus Xtreme were top of my list, Gaming X would have been attractive if it was priced well though, but looking at reviews the EVGAs look like the right choice.

A couple of weeks probably wouldnt be deemed an unreasonable timeframe.

Given the next stock isnt for arond 4 weeks and will be a trickle at that point there is no way PLE can have ANY idea how/when they would be serving customers towards the end of that list.

Yeah thats the distributors being greedy fucks. No surprise....

EVGA must get into australia via different distributors or even direct from EVGA?

RTG is now playing second fiddle to Ryzen team. They know that Intel is a much more incompetent player than Nvidia so they're focusing their efforts on the CPU market to eat Intel's marketshare.

Nvidia on the other hand is still run by its founder and still has survival paranoia in its genes and are a much harder target to nail.

I agree with you on that, PLE always have this problem so I will see how it goes if they cancel my order that is fine by me or I will cancel my order if I do not feel like getting the card anymore :) I just do not want to encourage retailers to sell these cards at inflated price, almost 50% markup on some models is just a scam

Just a quick Google, EVGA have a sole distributor, MMT.

    MSI = Anyware, Auscomp, Leader
Gigabyte = Anyware, Auscom, Dicker, Impact, Leader, Synnex, Wholesale IT.
ASUS = Anyware, Auscom, Dicker, Impact, Ingram, Leader, Synnex, Tech Data, Wholesale IT. XiT

You can see the usual suspects on the main brands, so maybe MMT are less into the hype?

That’s why I ordered via scorptec. I figured the higher prices would keep the hordes away and hopefully give me a chance of actually getting a card this year.

So if the 4,500 units preordered say, at a generous $1,350 ish price point just for PLE alone and delivery expected at December or so... Hmmm someone work out the potential interest they'll earn :Paranoid:

Probably be cause all of the cards were directly allocated to the main retailers.

There would not be a single card let in the country haha.

I’m moving continent at the end of the year, pretty glad I didn’t give PLE my $$$ for a pipe dream. Just had a feeling they were in over their heads with pre-orders.

4,500+ orders. What a bunch of muppets.

I dunno if there is a way to enter promo codes in your PLE account, but back then when PLE was doing those Vega deals on Ozbargain a long time ago there is code that will upgrade your account to VIP account which you get discount on pretty much everything.
