See my earlier post on this... "it depends" - https://forums.overclockers.com.au/posts/18657642/

It would be 'affect' in your statement. With the 'effect' that they will run slower.

I guess Sydney sellers are always last to the party. Still asking for $1400 - $1600 for a 2080 Ti, well at least yesterday they were!

I am in no rush to buy. Would prefer to see and read all the reviews first. See if any glaring bugs or issues with AIB partners. Also see what AMD brings to the table. My only concern it the dollar dropping further and or price increase when Nvidia see what AMD releases and whether an impact from XBox/PS5.

I cannot afford one anyway. Been stood down since March and on jobkeeper. Maybe a 3080Ti will be available/announced by then.

Adelaide there were a couple yesterday going for $1750+

I'm looking forward to a 3070 or 3080, so glad prices have finally dropped

i'm glad my dogged insistence that - NO I'm not paying 2080 money for a GPU. There are stories circulating that I wasn't alone.

At the moment he is, but in a couple of months he'll probably be right.

Performance of the cards seems great and all but who can tell me about RTX I/O and will it help with these ridiculous MS Flight Simulator Load times???

My naivety bought dual M.2 SSD's a couple of years ago in the hope that it would load games faster and at the time was a bit of a let down. However this seems like it might finally pay off.....

The price of modern Nvidia graphics cards is an outright joke, as a long time Nvidia user there's no way I can even remotely justify such prices.

I'll just stick with my 980Ti, it still does what I want it to do - I don't even play that many games anymore..

I vaguely recall that the steam hardware survey is heavily skewed by the Chinese market. I mean look at the 'DirectX 8 GPUs and below' gaining almost double in the last 4 months.

Don't think it'd fall that much, even if 3060 arrives this year.

Anyone called it yet? I personally don't think the 3090 won't do 4k@144 on the highest settings for current AAA titles :p

Reckon 4k gaming is still a pip dream lol

My guess is that the 3060 will arrive just before xmas if they can make enough chips. Gotta get those xmas sales.

Though, iirc, the usual 60 cards have a different, smaller die. Maybe they'll switch TSMC's 12nm to making those. Ought to buy 6 months before they re-release it on 8nm.

You are deadset getting a new card so I would take it. It is realistically about as good as you will get now so cut your losses and run.

My smug face is very smug right now.
