Hunt around overseas, you might get one earlier than waiting for a distributer to get a mass shipment by sea freight... Australia always tends to get the scraps left over of stock...

I guess I'll just have to hug my 10900K and Strix motherboard coming this week, that should get me through the night :p

So I'm a fuckwit because people keep being confused by how boosts work? You seemed confused especially given you ignored EVGA's statements regarding the cause to posit your own theory.

Yeah looks like the ETAs are getting pushed back. Perhaps they're going to change the cheap and nasty capacitors with ones friendlier for post-2GHz clocks? Regardless, just a quick reminder for everyone to cancel their orders. And again to let me know which store you cancelled them from :Paranoid:

are people still ordering cards even though there are issues.

as far as i can see the msi 3080 seems to be the one to go for as the chips on the back of 4 x large and 2 x small sets which is what is the same as reference

Because you totally wouldn't want to shop at a place that had let so many of your OCAU homies down right? :leet:

Seems a bit quick to delay just on the caps issue but hey. I would have thought all the stuff due for delivery this/next week is already on a plane somewhere.

All AMD need to do to steal the thunder now is deliver 3080 performance and actually have stock on launch lol.

Me to mate, all the distributors wont reserve a card for little old me... either I don't have a good enough relationship or I don't spend enough with them lol

Yeah but if the fix may be to downclock which isn't covered by warranty, which means you may not be able to return the card as its been "fixed" lol

I'd only buy a card that is stable at the boost clocks...

With TSMC pumping out xbox and ps5 chips I would guess RDNA2 will also have low volumes on release date, whenever that is. November?

AIBs could literally triple production right now and there still wouldnt be enough for 3080 demand.

Lol Scorptech being cagey about queue position for 3090 Strix OC... so I’m in the bottom part but somewhere in a better position than the bottom of the top 15... order was at 2231 btw

Obviously I didn’t want to waste too much of their time about ETAs or quantities etc. It must be hell this last fortnight manning chat support or god forbid the phone lines!

boosts clocks are not guaranteed. only clocks guaranteed are base clocks.

Jayz2cents is talking about a firmware update, where the boost clock is lowered but the base clock stays the same.

They can do that since only base clock speeds are guaranteed. If they were to lower the baseclock via firmware, then you could return the card as then its not what you paid for.

You can not return a card because it wont hit boost clocks lol
