    They are just dicks in general, I refuse to deal with them.

    On another note... finally! The video we have all been waiting for!

    I have been playing several games of OW back to back and yeah I love this card! It isn't even the OC version and I am hitting >= 2010MHz consistently.

    I have been playing with the boost, I think I can go higher.

    'Twas the night before ETA, when all through the house
    Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
    The PCIe slots were hung by the CPU with care,
    In hopes that St. Jensen soon would be there;

    The n00bs were nestled all snug in their beds,
    While visions of Ampere danced in their heads;
    And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
    Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

    When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
    I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
    Away to the window I flew like a flash,
    Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

    The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
    Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
    When, what to my wondering eyes what should occur,
    But a miniature oven, and eight tiny microarchitectures,

    With a little old engineer, so lively and sudden,
    I knew in a moment it must be St. Jensen.
    More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
    And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

    "Now, KEPLER! now, TESLA! now, TURING and MAXWELL!
    On, FERMI! on VOLTA! on, HOPPER and PASCAL!
    To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
    Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

    As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
    When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
    So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
    With the oven full of GPU's and St. Jensen too.

    And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
    The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
    As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
    Down the chimney St. Jensen came with a bound.

    He was dressed all in leather, from his head to his foot,
    And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
    A bundle of GPU's he had flung on his back,
    And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

    His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
    His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
    His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
    And the apron 'round his waist was as white as the snow;

    The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
    And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
    He had a broad face and a little round belly,
    That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

    He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
    And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
    A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
    Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

    He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
    And filled all the PCIe slots; then turned with a jerk,
    And laying his finger aside of his nose,
    And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

    He sprang to his oven, to his team gave a whistle,
    And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
    But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
    PAPER LAUNCH TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

    Another thing about my case, they opened pre-orders earlier than they should have.
    So I made my purchase at 7:15pm, before they were officially supposed to open at 11. I accept they don't have to give me an ETA or queue position but they did take XX orders and charge everyones card to the tune of $2859 for a "pre-order" that we have no clue when we will get. Also my PLE order hasn't been charged yet but its for a 3080.

    I agree and that was kind of the point I was trying to make (but obviously failing at).

    The average user doesn't gaf about "da MHz" and just wants to play without something going wrong with the magic boxen. I think for that person it has been game on.

    Doesn't leave much for us "overclockers" when cards are coming out of the factory running so close to their limit huh

    Yup, like I said, this generation isn’t easy gains like Pascal was. Every extra bit of performance you are paying for with extra power consumption. The cards are already boosting to their limits out of the box also leaving very little on the table.

    Everyone remember the golden era of Pascal? Near 80% improvements from Maxwell with no power consumption increase. Hell I got an extra 12% performance boost from a waterblock alone!

    Ampere... best generational leap in a decade... :lol:

    "I'm not a pick and place machine"

    Lol. That much is clear. Kudos to him for not being embarrassed to show that butchery on camera though

    I cringed sooo much when he bent up the SMDs, ooof asking to rip off the pads! He needs SMD soldering tweezers :)

    Kudos to him for doing this though as this was the only way to put this to bed once and for all by modding the card as a back to back comparison.

    My take is that nvidia is reaching the eol of the architectural improvements they made to Pascal for rasterisation performance. They probably figured that they are so far ahead of AMD that they can start padding out their tech with more proprietary stuff like hardware ray-tracing and DLSS. It's kind of reason why the improvements to 1080p and 1440p have been kind of mediocre in comparison to 4K.

    I'd be very keen to see the strategy that AMD take with Big Navi given that they don't have any proprietary tech that we know of to counter nvidia's.

    All this anxiety, stress, and disappointment. Imagine if some of you just waited to see what AMD brings out (not to mention you'll probably have the chance now, considering no one is getting a card this millennium or its cap is gonna pop :lol:)
