I meant that like Nvidia is flexing with the raw performance of it. I neglected to mention the RTX 3090 because it really is meant to be a Titan class replacement, which means it's not really meant for the general gaming market. Sure, you guys can grab it, but I don't see it's value in just gaming performance at all.

I get what your saying but the 3090 like all Titans of the past gave you access to basically all the performance a generation has to offer upfront. The Ti cards that follow later end up being slightly tweaked Titans with less VRAM or similar...

The point I was making is that the 3090 is basically a window into what the 3080Ti will be in a yearish. NVIDIA have shown all their cards (pun intended) at this point until next gen. All they can do is rehash stuff with new names, features and price points :)

I think you're on to something on both counts. The top and bottom bins are probably wide apart from each other and due to yields vs demand they need to use every single chip therefore the BIOS is super spicy power wise to account for the lowest bins. I'll be interested to see the worst undervolt results that people achieve as time moves on, if my theory is true then there must be some that hardly work if the voltage is lowered.... or the whole product was rushed altogether, there's no evidence of that though. :p

You know what, I think I just worked it out... Ti variants to come later with Titan class (3090) performance for cheaper but a drop in power consumption to around 250W with better binning and undervolting.

I can just see their marketing now... they turn their previous mistakes into selling points.

I’d say try the opposite - shunt mod it and water cool it (when blocks are available) to see how high/long you can boost for with UNLIMITED POWERRRRR
