Would this purchase count if you make a price protection claim? :Pirate:

I live here (at the moment), I consume wherever it's convenient. You can't just lump it all together and say Apple Samsung and NVidia have arbitrarily inflated prices without considering the global picture.
FWIW, Apple products may be "overpriced" globally (subjectively) but the Australian RRPs have generally been about on point given our exchange rate. Sometimes we actually do quite well when you factor in our average national earning.

In the case of Ampere, it's not particularly fair to say it's Nvidia who have created this pricing hike - it's the Australian retail industry that is exploiting supply and demand. Likewise the AIBs will set there RRP based on market research, but the USD pricing is still the benchmark - that is what every other regional price should be compared to.

So, to my point, the benchmark RRP for these cards has not quadrupled, or tripled, or even doubled. In four generations (excluding RTX20xx because fk that noise) Nvidia pricing has literally only increased 27.3%, or 16.4% when correctly adjusted for inflation.

If you're referring to cards before the GTX9xx series I think you've got rose coloured glasses, Hexus did a piece 3 years ago that went right back to the GeForce 2 in 2001 and it's very clear that pricing has been relatively consistent for almost two decades now:

Great in depth analysis but it looks different in AU RRP.

I saw them advertise it coming and from never dealing with them before looked at their customer reviews and quickly decided this is a company I do not want to trust my money with. So hopefully for you guys your not another dissatisfied customer

Needs to be normalised against the Au dollar fluctuations also.

They're not going very well in the whirlpool 3080 s/sheet (12 ordered, none delivered, no ETAs) ... make of that what you will.

Thanks Luno. I have dealt with them before and had no issues. The thing about the reviews is, most of the time it's people with bad experience that feel compelled to write one. Even Scorptec has about a half of 1 star reviews.
I'll start worrying when we see more reports of people receiving these cards and mine will be still nowhere to be seen. In the end all I've got to lose is some time and I'm not in a hurry. The cash may sit in their account as well as in mine - at the current rates it would earn me a beer every 2 months or so.

lol that Dcomp one is the one I entered - I can vouch for them.

    I've settled on an undervolt with the ventus 3080 - 1900Mhz @ 825mV. It isn't a good overclocker, but I am loving the upgrade from a 1080ti!

My 1080Ti is still such an arse kicker I can't imagine what a 3080 is going to be like. I'm literally going to need a 120Hz+ 4k monitor/tv to milk it. Thankfully VR can always benefit from super-sampling.

    Ok, instant.

Whats your instant btw? Less than $5k and I'm in.

This is really important, if I have to wait another 3 weeks to get more fps my life will literally be over.

Wow there was do much drama when I listed a Zotac 3090 for $50~ over market..
In the past 2 weeks there have been a few 3080s for over 20% retail....
