Got myself a Gigabyte Eagle from Scorptec. Receipt didn't come through until about 12:25 so guess we'll wait and see how far down the queue I am.

your are forgetting peoples mindsets too, oiooo xx80 TI vs xx70, ewww 70, means i am midrange, haha,. prefer top range even if its the older gen, and saving some money!

As an owner of a 2080 Ti, still undecided if too bother selling, since its still a damn powerful card, because i am worried about 2nd hand price, but then again, thats tech, doesnt matter if you buy something top end, something is always coming and will replace it at some point. If you are really worried about the potential loss on resell, then prob shouldn't buy it in the first place. Or sell before new cards come out :p which a few did, stop gap..

also congrats to 3070 users getting 2080ti level performance, had it for 2 years already :p, so put a price on that!

i dont mind letting the market decide what its worth.

May list the following cards, at $0 res, and start are bidding war!, its fun to ride, especially when tbh, as long as they get somewhat decent money, really not going to both me if its a little be less then what similar cards sold the week or 2 previously. thats the market!

    11GB Asus GTX1080 Ti Turbo
    11GB Inno3d GTX1080 Ti iChill X4
11GB Zotac 2080 TI AMP with Corsair Waterblock
    10GB Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC

Yeah true, but i dont mind being a guinea pig :p -- as i intend to buy a 5950X, would love to pair it with a 6900XT just for sake of doing it, knowing its a peformance upgrade from a 3900x/2080ti regardless.

Of course there are likely teething issues as there are with most new gen parts, but thats to be expected. Oh an also, if i got a 6900XT, it would be dependant on when a waterblock was available, stuff running it on AIR!

AMD and the retailers .. if there's any shortage / prices, will be push upwards..
History has already proven this all the previous AMD releases..

If anything is priced too cheaply compared to the competition, it quickly gets sold out and market forces will push the prices upwards.

if the AMD cards isn't significantly cheaper than the NVIDIA equivalent.. there's no reason to go AMD, unless you physically can't get your hands on the NVIDIA card.

Except Turing was HORRENDOUSLY priced even by stupid tech standards.

    Sure!

You lost at least $600 per year of ownership for the privilege. In about a month that will be about $650 per year.

Oh well, doesn't bother me. 650$ per y hear to be 2 years ahead of the others, sure why not :D

Again, its all subjective, whats worth it whats not, for me, money is for spending, got my enjoyment, always going to be take a loss at some point. With the casino being closed in Melbourne for months have all this extra poker money that needs a good home!

when 4000 series drops may be the same "RIP 3070" :p

I pretty much assume, that its going to be impossible to get a 3070 founders for $809 except in the lottery.
the best buy was obviously the $1139 3080 founders...

a secondhand 2080Ti, with dubious warranty for the same money...at a 3070.. hmmm.
A brand new card with 3 years warranty is probably going to be a better buy (except for the 8gig of ram)..

its pretty much the secondhand 1080Ti versus new 2070 super / 2080 argument all over again..

After reading about some of the problems people are having getting warranty on their 2080Ti, without the receipt, I might stick with new..

At least he didn't buy a RTX 3090, the 100-150% markup for 10-15% performance increase is craziness..

the argurment RIP old vid card, is always going to happen, every gen, thats the nature.

Seems even more relevant for the 2080Ti, given its stupid high new price.

alsl $400 for my 2080 ti with WB? even drop it off too you :p haha---

i may have taken a few losses but wont be letting a 2080Ti go for $400, allthough, im sure i would have zero issues selling it at the price :p

haha, yeah, 3090 is way too much to swallow, even for me haha.

    Actually thinking about it..

assuming the 3070 is pretty much the same performance as the 2080Ti
the 2080ti is around 33-35% faster than the 1080ti at 144o and 4k..

the speed difference should be the same 3070 versus 1080Ti..

It makes those secondhand 1080Ti at $450-$500 amazing value..
bang for buck the 3070 /2080ti would have to be priced at $607.5 - $675.. (which is never going happen in the short term.

Disty's are really making a killing this year with the stupid high margins over RRP. Sadly I think they will do exactly the same thing with CPUs

    You do you!

Point is, the new generation is back to being slightly 'normal' value. At least not quite as ridiculous as Turing. Not sure WTF the 3090 is, it might as well not exist.

    I'll take it ;)

I have a 1080Ti with waterblock going up as soon as I get my 3080. Honestly, I don't need to replace it.... it does mostly everything I need, but with VR there is no limit to super-sampling, so I kinda want to go there.

Get in line for NCrypt's 2080Ti,

Expect less demand for a 1080Ti with a block, than one without.. (hopefully you have the air cooler to put back on)

literally the same with the 1080 Ti i have, does everything enough at 1440p as it sits, but will be sold once my 3080 arrives, received an update today from TechSwich, card arrived tonight at their store, and will be shipped off to me tomorrow. So should have it by next week!

Also Ali Express have shipped my waterblock for the 3080, and shoud also receive that next week (hope so), then will be an exciting weekend ahead (ESPECIALLY if i can get my hands on a 5950x end of next week also!)

yeah 1080 Ti's i have both air cooled, never got around to WCing the Asus Turbo. Had ordered a block for it, but could never actually get it, so never got around too it!

2080 Ti has the air cooler too, but unless i was desperate to sell it, would sell it with the waterblock attached! dont want to get stuck with a block, but will see!

Massive jump from Mwave's RTX 3070 FE pricing to the AIBs. This is nuts.

And the ASUS STRIX RTX 3070 is more expensive than some AIB RTX 3080s... At this point, the only logical option is to go for a pre-loved RTX 2080 Ti.

Same, get the FE cheap 2moro or just wait until the dust settles.

I think I'm signed up for the raffle a while back. The FE model is probably the only one I would buy, but as an RTX 2080 Ti owner, it doesn't really make sense to keep both GPUs :Paranoid:

I would probably keep the RTX 3070, despite losing 3GB of VRAM :p

Doesn't that contradict your warranty logic for a used card? Heh
I give the 1080ti far less value, but no go for me.
4+ year old card, most likely heavily used esp considering it's from the mining generation.
No RTX, a new galaxy rtx2070 super is better.

    Deviating from topic...
Nvidia is just balling, perfect time to launch as no completion, huge demand!
