Decided if you’ll go 3080 or 6800xt?
3080 Aorus Master, Bendigo Centrecom had one in stock, rang them yesterday and the guy quoted via email paid by DIrect Deposit and they are gonna express it out to me as soon as payment clears
oh fantastic! Centrecom got a bunch of those masters in yesterday!
I feel like the Aorus Master is a mid range card sold at top end pricing. Am I wrong? The Aorus Xtreme at least has 3 power plugs for potential overclocking with the same cooler. The Master seems like it’s overpriced for what it is.
the clocks for the Xtreme and Master is only about 60 MHz difference from what I can tell, I’ll overclock the Master a bit but I ain’t gonna go sick with it, I suppose look at it like the Strix vs Strix OC
Edit: Just looked this up, forgot I made the Strix comparison their difference is massive, but the Master and Xtreme have a 60mhz boost clock difference
I've got a 4700x2 here. Yours for a paltry $5000? 9400 is bigger than either 2080, 3080 or 3090!
I'm feeling like that about the whole 3080 launch tbh.
Some 3070's here: https://www.ijk.com.au/branch/ijk/a...cat=1&keywords=3070&x=0&y=0&manufacturers_id=
the 3x8pin would be nice, but the master is still a nice card.
Agree, I was originally getting the Master through PBTech for under $1600 which is why I went for it, their blow out to 1/12 was the nail in the coffin and I bailed, I really like the LCD displaying the temps
Turns out the card won't be coming for awhile. Cancelled my order. The guy was really nice about it on the phone... I feel bad for the abuse retailers get on the phone or by email. Angry customers + FOMO + no stock = recipe for disaster.
better sell those 3090 quick with some 6800xt beating it in some games at 1/3 price
Did he give any indication of the real ETA? That was a weird one because they changed it from out of stock to 4/11 ETA..
Totally agree, places like PLE must be absolutely copping is big time
Yeah it's overpriced for sure, even by US MSRP.
$849 USD MSRP (~$1300 AUD factoring US sales tax) for a 380W TDP.
It's only got two 8 pin connectors, which are rated at 150W each, + 75W for the PCIE slot... so it's already running over design spec limits for power draw.
Of course Aussie retailers are selling it for $1650 AUD.
By contrast the eVGA FTW3 Ultra is $810 USD MSRP ($1233 AUD factoring US sales tax) and is 380 TDP default, with the option to increase to 450W.
Both the FTW3 Ultra and the cheaper non-Ultra FTW3 have three 8 pin connectors and so can actually accept 525W and remain in spec.
You can find them here for $1259 AUD (FTW3 Ultra) and $1229 AUD (FTW3).
The 3080 is a mid range card now?
Fk'n lol, the fan boi rage is real.
3-4 weeks... but no one really knows. It seems like they were bombarded with orders from opportunistic people like me last night.
PLE yes, because they took in all those EVGA orders. Any retailer game enough to take pre-orders (all of them) would be copping it big time. It's ~ $1500 of cash they're holding for every customer. Still doesn't give people an excuse to get abusive though!
Yeah sure, just like the 3090 is bottom of the range.
anyone else kinda glad they held off on these? i sure as shit am
Never go full retard...
Skramit was saying the card was a middle of the 3080 range card that was being sold for top of the range 3080 price.
I was suggesting that the whole range could come down in price.
But feel free to read into it whatever makes you sleep better at night, fanboi lol.
