It was the EVGA XC3 Ultra. Still after those slimmer and svelte GPUs for those SFF cases. So, yeah I have active pre-orders on both RX 6800 XTs and RTX 3080s :Paranoid:

Seems the EVGA XC3 ultra at lest mine trips out my 1200w PSU, currently testing out swapping around the 8pins on the PSU end, running the GPU off a 650W separate PSU stopped the crashes.

    $900 for a 17 inch LCD.

And people say $2k for a 34" Ultrawide is too much these days.

So I was thinking about current prices of these cards and what will change in future. AMD cards releasing bring some much needed supply into the market but in 3 weeks we got CP2077 releasing and every man and his dog will be looking to make sure theyve upgraded in time for that so demand is gonna increase even more. I wouldnt be surprised if prices go even higher again! It's clear that retailers aren't scared to jack up prices.

Nvidia rushed out Ampere to beat AMD who rushed out 6xxx series to beat Cyberpunk. So they didn't have any time at all to build any stock up.

    And then 2077 got delayed.

Man those old invoices bring back some memories. The 3800+ p160 build especially. Three of us did similar builds of that on the same day. Thems were the days. Running from shop to shop at the pc markets for whoever had stock. Yes actual vendors had actual stock of new products, I'm that old!

Yeah and that's $900 in 2008, would be equivalent to about $1600 these days.

anyone here any rumour's about a price drop in 3080/3070's now AMD have launched? I'm probably dreaming, don't plan to upgrade till early next year. price drop would make it slightly quicker

Price drop for what? The 3080 is faster, overclocksbetter. Has an adequate amount of vram. Has better vram. Supports cuda, supports nvenc. The $250 price premium is factored into the features.

    What drugs are you on?
The AMD cards overclock way better!
And speed wise, trade blows with the 3080.. depending on the game etc
And it's still debatable if they have enough ram or not...
    I'm still waiting for a 3070ti though

To sell more cards than the competition.

    Similar.

    It's similar in performance.

From the information we have available this is not the case at all.

We'll have to wait for aftermarket reviews.

    Adequate sounds dicey.

I think 10GB is enough for 95% of usage scenarios over the next few years though.

Which does zero for gaming, except add...
Edit: Just realised it's not looking good for Nvidia lol.

The new AMD card with RT on is more like a 2080TI and no DLSS is option renders the AMD cards way slower.

Dragging the slider to get a 25% overclock and actually realising that performance gain is another thing.

I think Nvidia is going to be very aggressive wise in terms of value added features and driver updates to try and cut off AMD. It's been such a long time since they've been challenged at the high end of the gaming centric GPUs. I'm loving the competition, except for the fact that none of these GPUs are easily purchasable at reasonable pricing and quantities
