I'm pretty sure the X38 and the AW3821DW share at least the same panel (although maybe not the same revision of it) so they'll end up having a similar end user experience. I decided the extra refresh rate was worth it, plus the X38 being in stock and on a slight discount I went with it. If the X38 wasn't in stock or was still at $3k I'd have got the Alienware this Friday. I might have also got the X34S (the Nano-IPS 200hz refresh of the X34 line) had it been out now instead of the X38.

$2250 for the Alienware is a incredibly good price. There are some rumours it might even be lower on the day. It's not much more than what I paid for my old X34, for a much better screen. I reckon it'll be a good purchase even if you haven't got the Ampere GPU to go with it. It is 75% the size of a full 4K monitor and that difference can make games much easier to run, especially with some graphics setting tweaks.

Very happy with the X38. It was a little bit of a mystery purchase since there were no real reviews to go on except for the LG screen using the same panel, and that was enough to tip me into buying it.

I've been running my XC3 on a Seasonic Gold Focus 650W without any issues so far

pretty sure they are targeting "guaranteed 60fps". I would say RTX off for any high-refresh rate fanatics

Ta. I think it's important to say by what metric they are using. No probs with 60fps

Every card and PSU seem to have different results, also depends on your other components, and game your playing cold war uses all features the card has to offer so its a good test case.

I'm still waiting to receive my cold war code but I'll definitely fire it up once it's installed. Been playing Wolfenstein Youngblood with everything maxed out and it didn't skip a beat! 3440x1440p with max settings and RTX on held steady at 100fps for a few hours.

Anyone care to comment on how the 3090 MSI Suprim compares to the 3090 Asus strix oc?

Control ultimate edition is $25 on GMG if some of you are interested in pushing some RTX features. I enjoyed Alan Wake and have heard this exists in the same universe so I picked it up.
