To be fair though, there were only a couple of weeks of confusion before it became clear to everyone how long the wait would be. People have always had the option to request a full refund, at which point it becomes the consumers choice to allow PLE (or whomever) to sit on the payment.

While I’m not trying to defend the opportunistic practices of Australian retailers (and scalpers), these are just luxury items after all, no one is beholden to any specific retailer to maintain an order they are unhappy with.

Bad move. in June 2022 they'll convert the remaining 7500 ampere pre-orders into the new 5nm cards. You'll be at the back of the queue again.

it took them a long time to be “forthcoming” and I’ve had them say to me personally and others when asked how far we are in a queue (before they came up with their pathetic block system.) that it’s information they cannot give out. What complete and utter garbage as if theirs some gpu queue confidentiality. Not asking who’s orders are in front just how many.

and to an extent the stuff up with ryzen 5000. Their story is all stock got “accidentally” sent to WA store and instead of charging people more for shipping or atleast giving them the option of adding the extra costs or if not wanting to waiting for more stock. No option they gave the stock to be sold completely out of WA regardless of a queue. It’s a giant slap in the face to any online customer. And terrible business practice.

(igame on the left and rog card on the right)

I didn't bother overclocking on the stock bios.
I do have a stock score if you're interested (320watt)
The second bios on this card allows 400watts.

Any EVGA 3090 FTW3 user here??

My another FTW3 3090 Hybrid with XOC bios does not draw power properly..It stops at 102~105%. It looks like common issues that everyone has with XOC bios.

EVGA aware of this and fixing the issues.. I wonder why my boost was low

How many monitors are really compatible with a 3080 anyway, given HDMI 2.1 is a pretty new standard and seems to be what it takes to do 4k over 60hz - like 144hz or something?
Anyone got a decent 32" (or larger) 4k running over 120hz on HDMI 2.1?
Or are there HDMI workarounds I don't know about?
    Anyone using the 3080 DP 1.3 or 1.4 to do 4k 120hz?
This article seems to suggest the 120hz is an upper boundary on 4k with DP 1.3 or 1.4.

i thought monitors just knock back colour accuracy settings or some other quality settings to be able to get all those 4k frames out. i know the new alien ware AW3821DW (which isn't full 4k but 3840 x 1600) does something like that to be able to run at 144hz

Think it drops 10bit to 8bit to make that happen, but 10bit is doable at 120hz. Why they didn’t implement DSC is slightly puzzling...

Dang! In the time I was chatting with my son about whether he wanted to pay the extra $600 for a 10Gig 3080 at that Amazon link - it sold out!
Oh well - at least now I know he's willing to pony up the extra mulla now and we're hunting down either the 8 gig or 10 gig 3080 - and will build the rest of the computer around that purchase accordingly.
