They're expecting more stock on Feb 22.
So should advance some in the queues, don't know which ones though..

I give it 3 hours tops before someone's cracked it.
From what I've read it's a driver thing. In which case it will be a driver that doesn't exist yet.

First thing anyone will try is to use old drivers and add the appropriate lines to the inf file.

Quite obviously he is talking about the vast majority of people who have received their launch day cards. Most people had to wait 1-3 months, but saved about a third of the cost of the card in doing so.

Only useful if you intend on selling it while the market is still inflated though right? It will adjust back down in due course.

My 3080 has also gone up $200-$400 but that's just a paper exercise, it's not "worth" $200-$400 more. The RRP is still a known entity and resale value in 12-24 months won't care about the market madness of 2020/21.
Either way, I still paid far less than most which more than justified a few weeks wait for me.

Incidentally, next week marks 4 months of waiting for my 6800XT. Will still be worth it at the price I got.

Couple of weeks ago there was only 1 3080 below 1400..
Now there's a few.. so prices might be getting better?
    Unless I'm confused

Even mine was purchased last year, a month or whatever after release, for under $1,400.

I ordered 3080 FTW3 Ultra on 25/9/2020. Just last night I went from 2nd block in the queue tracker to having an ETA of 15 March. Spot hadn't moved in probably 6 weeks prior to this. So it would seem shipments are coming just real slow and/or not big quantities....

The wait is really outrageous lol I paid for this thing in full 5 months ago, but hey at least I'm also getting it like $200 cheaper than today's prices.

from the commbank term deposit website (these are the good interest rates):
the interest paid on $1259 at 6 months is $1.85 :lol::lol::lol:

maybe if they had 10,000 back orders it might be worth doing something but don't think PLE is just sitting on your money rolling in the cash from the interest.

who cares about the interest? what about the cash flow they can use to buy other components which turn over faster? instead of borrowing money from the banks at a higher interest rate lol....

That's 7 days after the launch of the hottest GPU to launch in 4 years. If it was a PLE order you're probably 4000 orders behind everyone else. While I understand the wait is real, by day 7 you must have known how far behind you were.

Glad someone did the math on this, I was thinking the same thing the other day.

Assuming they haven't also had to commit cash to the orders they have placed for GPUs? Why do you assume they are so liquid? They can take consumers money for orders (which they have been fulfilling), but don't have to expend money to secure the stock? Doesn't make sense.

yes, I stupidly waited for 3090 launch thinking prices might be reasonable (I would have been OK with like just over $2k for a model I wanted, but couldn’t stomach over $3k)

However while I knew I was behind in queue and accepted I would have to wait as a result, I certainly didn’t expect that wait to be 6 months (or more if it doesn’t come by ETA).
End of the day, whatever, it’ll come when it comes. Not like I’ve had to suffer much in the meantime, old 2080ti still holds up ok :)

Oh fuc.... come on.. I ordered mine mid-late november so by how long you've had to wait I'll be lucky to get mine in May.. probably in June as the shortage seems to be getting worse

Guaranteed they're working on the next gen. Hopefully they are working on a better release also.

I does performance wise, if it only came with HDMI 2.1. :( On the sunny side the prices for used 2080ti are up.
