Used market is going to be an absolute meme in a few months.

Glad I paid sub $900 for my 3070

if you've held out all this time and haven't purchased yet, very much worth waiting lol. I suspect 3080ti prices will bottom out around 2100-2300 with 2400-2500 for the premium SKUs

if the current trend holds then that surely looks like the case. if the crypto market decides to become bullish again and the chip shortage doesn't improve, that judgement call will be out the window. heres to hoping things keep dropping :D

All current nvidia production cards are LHR anyway now I assume? They should be disconnected from the crypto market even if it does find itself reinvigorated. Assuming no workaround surfaces of course.

Things are looking better by the week at the moment.

there are still non LHR models being made by the recent influx of GPUs from the retailers. But it could also be old stock that's been sitting around and finally reached our shores. I feel LHR was only put in place to please the gaming crowd and they're still making non LHR for those that want to game/mine willing to pay a higher premium for the option.

    note: This is all speculative

has anyone here made a preorder through scorptec for a 3000 series last year? Im just curious what their policy is when it comes to fullfilling the pre-orders(how much notice they give you that the item is on the way)

Is the hash rate limited an actual hardware thing? Like a chip added to the PCB? Or driver level? I'm curious if the limiter still kicks in with a mining OS like Hive etc.

Is there a sure fire way to identify which GPUs are mining crippled? I wonder if a full rate 3080 will command a better resale price than a limited one?

    :)

2 step process. Different chip + driver verification. Older driver won't work with the new LHR cards. 3080 for example, the LHR chips are GA102-202 and the non-LHR chips are GA102-200

Yes, all the ones I've seen so far are marked as V2 or state its a LHR somewhere on the box. As for a price premium, should be pretty obvious, a LHR is pretty useless for miners....

Once stocks of current models are done, you wont have a choice. Unless you buy a 3090
