Hopefully Intel get their next gen out about the same time. I can’t wait to be able to game at 144Hz on tripple monitors with full graphics detail. My only apprehension is that there inevitably seems to be a month or two of smoothing out of minor driver bugs. I’ve held off going from a 3090 and 10900 to a 3090Ti and 12900, as the 4090 and Intel 13th gen will hopefully provide and easy 25-40% increase, along with some schweeet DDR5.

i doubt the new 4090 and 4090ti will be THAT much better maybe the 4080 will be decent if its at msrp (lol)

I thought that PCIe 8p power cables were only rated up to 150W, so I'm confused how these new 16p power connectors are going to provide 500+ Watts to these cards. Even combining 3 separate PCIE cables into one connector (besides looking very ugly) will only give you 450W plus whatever it can get from the gpu slot.
Or is a GPU upgrade to next gen going to force us all to upgrade our PSU's to have this new dedicated GPU power cable?

thats only a safe rating, im drawing 425w peak from my 6900xt and ive seen ocs and bioses for ampere and turing draw 2x 4x that

Thicker wires, even going up one size (eg 18awg instead of 20awg) increases current handling by 50% or so. Keep in mind eps12v connector for CPU is 235w and also 8 pins.

hopefully crypto keeps tanking and there's enough stock that there isn't much benefit to scalping.

After the impact of the 3080 on my hip pocket I'm not exactly unhappy with any delay  :p

I'm not either and when the new series turn out to be expensive unobtainium the lowballers will be begging for our cards too.

    *laughs in 3080*

Of course I read the link before I posted, I'm not some impetuous 20-30 something year old :)

As I said, nothing has been announced, all dates are still speculation.

Can you actually delay a speculative release date? Why is this even news? Oh wait, it's not, it's just clickbait.
