Then why do they have them listed on their news page?

Did scorptec have the strix up for stock/pre order at all? Just curious, only starting to show up now in certain retailers.

it hasn't really show up anywhere yet - there are listings but only PCCG had it for "sale" and that was based on an expectation of being allocated stock for tomorrow

OK. So how does Nvidia manage to release a premium version called the 'founders' edition and charge USD100 more and then ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI sell a version that's even more expensive than the founders and make it another USD 50-100 more. I thought the whole point of waiting for the custom manufacturer versions is that it would be USD 100 LESS than the founders.

It is a problem that is easy to avoid. Don't buy until stock is plentiful or they announce 1080ti and prices are adjusted to fit it into the lineup. (Of course they will just smack it on top and it will be $1600 or something fun like that).

Was able to order a EVGA SC GTX 1080 from NewEgg for $883 plus delivery!
I think I must have taken the last one as it was sold out after I finished my order.

They usually pop up on ozbargain on the deals page not necessarily front page. So just monitor that.

What the hell is with the price of the Strix?

$1249, one of the most expensive 1080's to come out so far, I'm curious what the price of the eVGA GTX1080 Hybrid will cost.

I was thinking about getting one to match the X99 Strix motherboard I'll be picking up, but I think I'll end up just going with the eVGA SC Gaming or Hybrid (if it's the same price as the Strix).

Still not 100% sure whether just to sit on the GTX980ti Hybrid for another 12 months though
