Its an upgrade for the 970 so it should drop into that price range. No use making it the same perf as a 980Ti and asking the same price

I paid $490 for my 970 from Amazon a year ago, if anything 970 is cheaper now, not dearer.

Sorry. I meant that prices have been rising with each new iteration. At least that's what it's felt like to me. Am I wrong? I don't mind being wrong. :o

    http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/10/3011369/nvidia-geforce-gtx-670-specs-price-release-date

Nvidia has done the inevitable and trickled its Kepler GPU architecture down to a more wallet-friendly level with the introduction of the US$399 GeForce GTX 670

Not much difference there for an x70 gpu.

    GTX570 launched at US$349 too.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/2977/...-gtx-470-6-months-late-was-it-worth-the-wait-

    And GTX470 too, US$349.

That may not last though, AMD have been pretty busy working with studios and prepping for DirectX12 and Vulkan. Plus they're moving to a smaller fab process than Nvidia this time. Of course if they throw HBM2 down the line, their prices may take a hike too, so maybe pessimism is the way to avoid disappointment lol.

I reckon if the AMD offerings are as good as the rumours believe then they will just end up expensive so any performance advantage will be offset by price.

I paid $479 in November 2014. Was a great card. The upgrade to 980 was sort of pointless but I get to run more MSAA in Ultra :wired:

fully expect the 1070 to be usd 350-399 on launch but flatten out to 350 within a month or two - amd are to be taken seriously now with VR and dx12

A 1060Ti might be interesting, certainly suit my usage and budget better than a $500+ gpu.

I had a lot of fun with gtx660Ti in its day so bring on the next one.

Mid year release is just in time for Tax Returns :)

See what both the Red and Green teams have to offer and go from there.

I had fun playing with my 980ti for a few months, but it just wasnt quite there for 4k in every game I played.

4k is still a few years off being mainstream hell even just to get 60 fps stable in latest games the new cards are gonna have to be powerful as hell. I still struggle with 1440p. I just upgraded to a 144hz and i still only get on average 40 - 60fps in most games.

Yeah pretty much the reason I went 1440P as I didnt feel the market was ready for 4K + 60FPS minimum. Ill probably regret it eventually haha.
