Ryan Shrout, from PCPer, confirmed that the NDA gets lifted on the 17th of May in the US. So expect to see some benchmarks, reviews etc around the 18th here.

Yeah you should wait for the aib ones, as they are always better and faster than the standard reference cards from nvidia.

I'm having an involuntary swipe motion happening as well!

I may have missed it buried deep in the bowels of this growing thread but do Nvidia ship direct to Aus? Or do you need to arrange a mail forwarding service?
I've not used a service like that before so wondering what's involved.

Thinking the 1080 vanilla is the go for me, but interested in what comes out on the founders on the drop date.

Performance wise etc yeah there exactly the same, but isnt the founders sporting marginal better cooling or something?

Must admit I've not kept up with the commentary on FE.

    The founders isnt just Reference.
The chipset is, the cooler is slightly better (apparently).

Nvidia Intend to sell the Founders (reference model) for the entire lifetime of the 1080. To not crap on their AIB partners the price is higher for those who have specific needs/ preference for the blower style cooler. It's not an early adopter tax.

AMD's Vega is rumoured to be released in October to coincide with the BF 1 release.

That will throw a spanner in the works, will the Titan ?/1080 ti come sooner that was intended.

by premium they mean fancy metal shroud

doesnt mean the cooler works better

will be interesting to see if the AIB partners put a second power connector in their overclock versions to let you go beyond the 225W? max of single 8 pin

I don't care what AMD bring out, it could be 2x faster and I still wouldn't touch their crap

Actually they will use premium components on the PCB, ball bearing fan and a metal shroud. 3rd parties will use the cheapest components they can get their hands on, a sleeve bearing fan that will dry up in 6 months and rice LEDS.

I run both AMD & Nvidia cards in my various rigs. 0 failures from my AMD cards, I'm on my 3rd EVGA 770 I have a dead gigayte 580 and the 2nd 580 is on it's last legs. Meanwhile a 6870 that was from the umart flood sale and heavily water damaged still keeps going. All rigs are on Seasonic or Seasonic OEM PSU's

So who is making the crap?
