Ive got the 6GB version of that GTX1060. great cards, they perform well, but the fans are weak as and flex if they have to go hard (>75-80% and upwards) making an awful racket, I'm on my second card because of that reason. most of the main manufacturers under specified the fans and it shows, cooling performance just aint there for most cards barring the overkill coolers of the high end stuff.

i'm dead keen on getting the sea hawk x or another evga card next time around. both of those brands have not let me down yet.

I bought my 1080 for something like $700, before the madness, so it's not too far off that now.

I bought EVGA FTW 1080 -> $945 delivered via newegg, this was few weeks after the release, the standard model were cheaper a bit but not that much. also it was fair bit cheaper than local store prices.

Still running a 980Ti here, it cost me a fortune when i bought it and I plan on getting my $$ worth out of it. It's definitely no slouch, especially @ 1500mhz.

Oh wow Nvidia just released the GTX 1050 3GB model, seriously Nvidia do you really need to do this to combat miners when you already did this to GTX1060 6GB?

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1050/ I bet its the same story as my GTX 1060 5GB with crappy mining performance and similar performance in games if you overclock it a little bit.

That went out of stock too quickly :(

There are some good deals going on 2nd hand 1080's at the moment though.

New Tomb Raider - but the studio still haven't released the RTX patch, considering the game runs pretty bad as it is, they probably not going to release it anytime soon.
Battlefield 5 - this will probably be available at lunch but DICE already state in September they had to "tone down the RTX, in favour of performance" (Beta didn't have RTX enabled)
Metro Exodus - February 2019 - this should have RTX available day one.

    GTX1080Ti is still a great card, faster than AMD latest/fastest RX5700XT. :D

I bought new/unused MSI GTX1080 Gaming X+ from kipjib for ~$700 cos it was $300 cheaper than RRP($1000 on the receipt) back in 2017. Shoulda kept it cos it would be faster than RX5700XT.. :)

Am I reading the reviews right? AMD has almost, but not quite caught up to the 1080ti?

Best value card on the market, one lightly mined 1080ti :leet:

I'm pretty behind, I'm appalled at the current scene. Glad I'm not in the market to build at the moment, fck that for a joke.
