Just a Quick message guyz letting you all know that right now I am bathed in the goodness of 3 x 1920 x 1080 monitors at a resolution of 5967 x 1080 running NV Surround on Windows 7 64bit, yes 64 bit! No 32 bit leaked drivers here!!

Took me 2 mins to install the drivers, no issues whatsoever, didn't even delete the old ones, set up bezel compensation, that took about 30 secs and I was ready to go.

Running BFBC2 at my usual settings of all settings maxed, 5967 x 1080 resolution, AA @ 1x and AF @ 1x, HABO disabled, DX10 I get a rock steady 60FPS, the game play is actually smoother than it was running my 2 x GTX275's at 1920 x 1080!

It's late and i'm tired, so pics will follow soon - But I can honestly say that BFBC2 on these two GTX275's in SLi at the above resolution is just amazing, I can't believe how well the cards are handling this game at such a resolution.

Now the question is, do I go to bed or do I keep playing?

Review below, compared to 2 x 5870's in Crossfire the 2 x 480 in SLi combination offers amazing performance, I don't mind waiting so long for NV Surround when I see just how well implemented it is:

I seriously can't believe just how good the game runs, I didn't need to drop my 1920 x 1080 resolution settings down at all.

And the only money I had to outlay was the expense of an extra matching 1920 x 1080 monitor, my good 'ol GTX275's love 5967 x 1080!

Lets see other peoples NV surround goodness.

Well, nVidia's drivers & utils were always superior to ATIs. They only borked up the hardware line lately a bit, that's when I swapped too. If this is indeed a solution working with any card (well, 200 and 400 series) it can be great. I may consider my next upgrade to be a jump back to the nVidia camp.

Good to see the competition going on

edit: I don't think display port is needed if using multiple ATI cards either, as long as you keep to the 2 monitors per card limit...or is it?

Display port is needed with Eyefinity whether you have one, two, three or four cards - I'm so glad I don't need DP adapters and the problems that comes with them!

Just had a go at L4D2 and with all settings maxed out @ 5967 x 1080, including maxed out AA/AF I get, once again, a rock steady 60 fps, and when I say rock steady I mean no dips whatsoever, just like BFBC2.

Good news for 200 series owners, but heck 480SLi is still expensive, VERY hot, and power hungry. I would rather worry about DP than these factors, besides if I had to go buy new monitors I would ensure DP is standard so no worry!

Anyway good to see that people from both camps can enjoy this experience, hopfully developers will embrace it more and more in upcoming titles to good effect! Just cant wait until next gen when they get all these things right in the first place

FOV was a little 'off', had it set to 75 when I was running 1920 x 1080 and didn't get a chance to change it back to 60 last night.

    Changed it to 60 and strangely enough i'm now getting around 75 - 92FPS @ 5967 x 1080, DX10, all settings maxed, AA @ 1x, AF @ 1x, HABO disabled.

Seriously, these two GTX275 have been one of the best hardware purchases I have made in years.

Just fired up one of my fav games that doesn't get a lot of attention these days which is a bit of a shame as it really is awesome fun on a good server, Half life 2 Deathmatch. With all settings maxed out including AA/AF at maximum settings, 5967 x 1080 i get around 160FPS, it's like a new game again over 3 displays.

My major criticism with surround gaming is that often the fps suffer a lot, the 480's absolutely blow the radeons out of the water proportionately speaking. Definately the way to go if you want smooth gaming, i'd be interested to see 470's as well :D (you reading this TOX? pretty please :D)
Pity nvidia still haven't released a single card with 3 outputs though...
*edit* Except for GTX295's with a hdmi port...
I may have missed it but does it support mixed monitors at all?

My FPS are well above 60fps in every game I have played so far, i'm sure Metro 2033 or Crysis will be a challenge at high settings, but I don't play those games anyway so 'meh'.

Yeah that's what i'm saying, in that review the 480's blew away the 5xxx's and gave the all important 60fps in a lot of tests :D
I wonder how good the scaling is for the 2xx series...

Yup. A 5870 is barely enough to run current titles at high detail across 3 screens. The grunt of 2x480's and the fact they scale so well is awesome.

My EVGA 480 has 2 DVI and 1 Mini-hdmi. Not sure if i can use all three at once - moot point anyway, if you want to be accelerated over 3 devices, NVidia says you need SLI.

    here you go

    That's my point, i'm not running 2 x 480's, i'm running 2 x GTX275's!

And i'm still getting awesome peformance, no exageration :D:thumbup:
