Guys, can we keep the thread about the new cards not this crap?
i am talking about new cards.
more than likely "turing" is just cut down volta then after that its gonna be multi core modules.
if it did what i wanted it to, i would
it crossed my mind for the last 2 years almost, get a Quadro and overclock it with decent cooling.
so where's the review?
Its just as fast as a titan V when overclocked but as slow as a 1080ti stock
If so, that makes it not worth US$1k that's for sure..
What are you even talking about now ? I'm lost
Where did you read those numbers? I'm curious.
So I found this on google. It seems to apply to the thread.
i think this (from just 7 days ago) , like a lot of it is unconfirmed fantasy.
nice for those with 1300-2000aud or more to spend on a card.
Turing is most likely based on a cut down volta, they are not gonna make a new gpu from scratch.
fuck me thats insane i read that a week ago too and i still cant believe it.
As ive said for the last 11 pages if amd get off their ass prices will drop, i think alot of people are gonna quit gaming again because of stupid prices of screens and gpu's.
Just the cartels acting up again.
Just following the Apple pricing strategy, keep pushing it up until people stop buying.
If only a certain red team didnt drop the ball for 6 years... Hmmmm
there was a good article on this recently, sadly i can't find it. the TL;DR was that AMD is a tiny company compared to intel and invidia and doesn't have the R&D budget to compete so they are focusing on supplying consoles and apple.
gamers are to blame as well of course, i always went for the best value at the time which means until recently i had about a 50/50 mix of ATi and nvidia cards. looking on the hardware surveys on the other hand there was little shift to AMD when they had a better CPU or GPU, most people were willing to buy inferior products just for the brand perception.
Yeah it's not just their cards that suck, AMD has abysmal marketing and exposure while Nvidia is the complete opposite.
AMD didnt have the money for marketing so that point is moot, nvidia and intel ruined them, they only found their footing last year.
So apparently Q3, last paragraph is the best:
"Unfortunately, we have also heard rumors about the company experimenting with higher MSRP and price points to preserve the financial high they saw during the cryptocurrency boom but these remain mostly unsubstantiated at this point."
lol good luck nvidia ill be riding my 1080 till i die
Well, they believed that the discrete gaming GPU market was dying and was a good time to just walk away...kinda like what some are predicting now. That 1 decision set them back so far.
